Very disappointing (Johnson's Holiday Skin Body Lotion)![]() Member Name: laudanumjo
Advantages: moisturising. Disadvantages: Didn't work as a fake tan for me at all. I know this product has quite a fan base but personally I don't get it at all. As a fair skinned person I've tried all manner of fake tans from St Tropez to Fake Bake as well as the gradual moisturising tanning products such as Johnson's Holiday Glow and the Dove branded equivalent and I am not a fan of this product. Firstly it smells - weird. Not horrible, not nice, just very odd. My partner at the time was not a fan and it also had the added benefit of making clothes smell too. Secondly the 'gradual' bit was counteracted by the fact I like to shower. Not excessively, just to a healthy degree and this seemed to wash off my first or second 'layer' and by day 3 I was starting all over again. Thirdly - and for me the worst - it stained my hands! I had to rub the stuff on really quickly and found if I didn't wash my hands immediately afterwards they would soon turn a completely different colour to the rest of my body and unlike the 'layers' that washed off without protest in the shower apparently nothing shy of a Bunsen burner will get the stuff off of your hands. I also found the product could streak and that where it had been applied to areas of the body that naturally get a little bit clammy it came off again - I spent a few weeks with tanned outer arms and pale circles in the crooks of my arms on the inside of my elbows. It wasn't a pioneering look. On some expanses of my skin I did achieve a glow but I didn't find this the easy to use, fail safe product I had hoped it would be. Summary: Try Rimmel instant wash off tan - much better |
