Advantages: Colourful, Smell, Look, Design

Disadvantages: Not big enough for mummy and daddys hands

The time had come for us to allow our 2 year old son wash himself whilst on the bath, being only 2yrs old we wanted to get him something that he looked forward too. We did not want to just give him a sponge and squeeze some Johnson and Johnson bath wash on to it. No we wanted something cool, babyish and most of importantly something that is children safe.

**Searching**

On our monthly visit to our local boots store we decided to look at the options that where available to us, well to be honest there where not all that many options available to us. We had the good old sponge, face cloth, or these rather new and cool Kandoo wash mittens. Yippee we thought the search was over and we decided to buy them there and then! Yes without doing any research.

**Who Makes Them?**

Wait for it~ Yes it's another product brought to you by the one and only Pampers which is part of the Proctor and Gamble group. Pampers are famous for many baby products including nappies, wipes, bed mats, and swimming pants. Pampers are a massive organisation which sells its products in many countries~ 24 in all.

Proctor and Gamble are even bigger than Pampers and provide us with many products including shampoos, cleaning detergents, savouries, women products and many more household products. Once again this company sells there products worldwide.

Knowing that you are buying from such a large company you expect the best.

**What's in them? (Ingredients) **

Ok now I know that this may be a little boring but I think it may be useful for many people to know what these Kandoo wipes are made of~ WARNING list coming up

Sodium Laureth sulphate, Cocamidopropyl, Betaine, Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate, PEG-9 Cocoglyerides, Aqua, Decly Oleate, Propylene Glycol, Polyquaternium-6, Perfume, Phenoxyethanol, Panthenol, Methylparaben, Amyl Cinnamal, Hydroxycitronellal, Proplparaben, Butylparaben and Ethylparaben.

Boring part over, I just felt it was really important for many mothers and Fathers to know the exact ingredients of these mittens as so many children are allergic to certain chemicals.

**External Packaging**

The mittens come in a cool bag which children will love; it's a cool purple colour with a picture of the Kandoo frog on the front. The bag has a stylish green zip that is easy for children to open as there is an easy open green foot attached to the zip. You can tell that this bag is aimed at the younger market with its bright colours and cool picture on the front. You also have the pampers logo on all sides of the bag and on the bottom you have information relating to the ingredients, direct of use and contact details. I have to add here that it can be confusing for children as on the front of the bag you have a Kandoo logo, 4 pictures indicating how to use the mittens and under that it says "Foaming Wash Mittens" along with Gants Moussants~ Now me being me I can only assume that it's a foreign language……..

Sizes~ 6.5 Inches wide x 3.5inches tall x 4 inches deep

Thoughts~ Cool colours and design here well worth 10/10

**Internal packaging**

Ok so you have now opened the outer zip and you are just about to leap in to the mittens. Before you are able to use the mittens you will be greeted with a white cellophane packaging that will need to be removed. In order to remove this cellophane you need to take the whole package out of the bag, remove the white cellophane wrapping and then pop the mittens back in to the cool purple bag.

Thoughts~ a super idea here from pampers, I love the fact that you can tell if these have been opened before you use them. Added safety. Have another 10/10

**The Mittens**

They are 6 inches long and 4 inches wide made of a soft cloth material which is very soft for your children's skin. The mittens are basically a glove which you put on to your child's hand therefore they have a hole at the bottom to allow you to insert your child's little hands. One side of the wash mitten is pure white this is the side that has the soap within it; other side has cool pictures of the little Kandoo frog in a bath. These pictures alone will keep your little child's brain active for a while.

Thoughts~ cool for kids hands but a little too small for mummy and daddies hands, but we must keep this in mind these are made for children not adults. Mummy get your hands away I can wash myself. On this I give an 8/10 due to the small size

**Using Them**

Fun time is finally here I here you all shouting, direction for use is simple insert one mitten on to the children's hand allow it to get wet and then wash your body. Well if only that easy, the mittens don't generate a lot of soap when using them. I found that they only generate enough soap for my son to wash his abdomen (very little). So what was he doing wrong? I tried one myself and followed the instructions and I was extremely disappointed with the result. There is no way near enough soap in the mitten which is really upsetting as they are sooo cool.

Thoughts~ Sorry Kandoo but you need to improve the mittens a little more, I would much prefer a better lather when using the mittens. I am extremely disappointed with these mittens on performance. Sorry but 4/10~ * Your lucky to get a 4 here but my son still loves them.

**Smell**

A nice surprise here as usually when you get children's soaps they all have the same smell well at least Johnson and Johnson do. With Kandoo they have a very refreshing fruity smell that is not to over powering. They smell that nice you could eat them *I don't advise that*

Thoughts~ MMMMMMMM 10/10

**Disposing them**

Kandoo should NEVER be thrown down the toilet as they will block this system and will only get you a very expensive plumber's bill.

It is advisable to teach your children to place them in the bin after use.

**Price and Availability**

Prices below are for the pack that gives you the cool bag~ which includes 20 mittens

Tesco~ £2.94

Sainsbury~ £2.98

Morrison's~ £2.29

Asda~ £2.94

You will find these wash mittens in many other retailers, you can also get refills for the bag that retail at approximately £2.69 from the above retailers

**Conclusion**

I can say that I do still like these mittens; they are really made for children with the bright coloured bag and the stylish design. I would prefer if Kandoo made these big enough for an adults hand as my son is not that good at washing himself and I am always going over him again with a sponge which is just doubling the bathing time. I think the price is fair as you are getting a cool bag which you could use for many purposes after you have finished with the mittens. Other than the fact that they are not all that soapy I am delighted with the mittens. What can I say my son loves them so I must like them?
