      Advantages

      Disadvantages

A great body butter but could be too fragrant for some.

I first became aware of the Korres brand a couple of years ago when reading online reviews and on the strength of those reviews, I later purchased some Korres make up for my daughter when spotting a special offer online.
She was quite happy with her make up but I never really thought about the brand anymore until I received this Korres 'Fig' Body Butter when it was included in a bath & body hamper which was made up for me as a gift.

The Korres brand was formed up in Greece in the 90's with its roots set in Athens' first ever Homeopathic Pharmacy. Using natural ingredients, Korres have gone on to produce many body care and make up products which are sold around the world.

I do enjoy using a good body butter, but my experiences prior to trying this Korres body butter were limited to the Body Shop butters which usually come in a tub. Korres body butter is different in that it comes in a pump dispenser or tube. It was the pump-type dispenser I received and although 'fig' is not perhaps a fragrance I would have chosen myself, I was intrigued to try it.

Described as a juicy scent of freshly cut figs, I expected this body butter to be very fragrant and indeed it is. The key ingredient is fig extract, which is rich in minerals and vitamins, providing energy to the cells, whilst toning and regenerating your skin. The butter also contains Shea butter combined with Sunflower, Almond and Avocado oils to nourish your skin, restoring elasticity and smoothness.
Korres fig body butter is described as a smoothing and moisturising cream for use all over the body, being particularly ideal for dry elbows, heels and knees. Whilst I don't personally suffer with dryness to my elbows or knees at all, I do find I get some dryness to my heels particularly in summer months when wearing sandals, so made a mental note to apply some of this to my heels as well as using it as an all-over body butter.

Korres fig body butter is free from parabens, silicones and animal by products and no animal testing is carried out.

When I came to use my body butter I found it to be quite a strong fragrance, perhaps a little stronger than I prefer, but not unpleasant. It is quite fruity without being sweet or sickly, with a slight woody scent.
I found it to be a slightly less thicker texture than the Body Shop body butters I am used to, but it absorbs really well onto the skin, leaving a moisturised, smooth feeling after each application.
If you only like a subtle fragrance when using a body butter then this fig body butter would possibly not be for you. If only used on certain areas and not applied to the whole body, you are then left with a more subtle fragrance which I personally prefer, but when used all over the body it can be a little overwhelming I find.

After using this body butter a couple of times all over my body, I found it a little too strong smelling and so I used the remainder on my feet and heels during the summer months where I found it kept my feet thoroughly moisturised. I also used it regularly on my arms and hands.
I cannot complain at all about the results after every use, as you are left with hydrated smooth skin every time, wherever you choose to apply it.
For me personally this is a great body butter, but I would rather it was a little less fragrant, then I would happily use it all over my body instead of just in one or two places at a time.

As mentioned at the start of this review I was given my body butter as a gift so have no idea of the price paid, or where it was purchased, but looking online I have found this fig body butter available from online retailers Amazon.co.uk or feelunique.com priced at £12.50 for 125ml, both with free delivery and it is also available from the Korres website (www.korres.com)
