Advantages: Lovely in every aspect
Disadvantages: None at all
When it comes to buying shower gel it's not a guilty pleasure. I'm the first to admit I spend far too much on beauty products and make up and stuff but I always feel that shower gel is an necessity and it's a guilt free purchase along with bath foams and the likes for me! I can excuse it lol
Usually I buy a good quality shower gel. I'm not really a fan of Imperial Leather and Radox and stuff like that and I do like to splash out a few quid more on Soap & Glory and Ted Baker because to me I feel as good as what I use and I like that luxurious feel more expensive shower gels give me (as a rule). Showering should still be a pleasure while you treat your skin to something nice in my opinion although I do shower for quickness I like good stuff that look after my skin.
Although I like what I consider to be more luxurious stuff I do like to buy it on the cheap, after-all I like you, I am not made of money. It's not really an option to splash out £16.66 (Boots price) on this unless I really needed it because I was a fan of the fragrance and even then I'm not sure to be honest I'd think such a product was worth it. It would be a real hard decision for me to make lol.
However what sealed this purchase for me was that it was £1.00 a tube in T.J Hughes and once again I knew that I was making one hell of a saving and bought ten bottles of the stuff saving myself (if I needed this shower gel) a staggering £156.60! (Top tip here if you don't shop in T.J Hughes you really do need to take a good hard look in the store for bargains as I do!).
I however was not familiar with this range of products. I knew I was making a big saving but I don't own the matching fragrance. I sort of vaguely knew of 'a touch of pink' it because it happens to be my best mates favourite fragrance so I knew it was somewhat of an expensive brand and this was an amazing deal but I spent out a tenner purely cos it was Lacoste so although I made a saving, not like I really needed 10 bottles of it or anything..but that's me for you and in hindsight I'm mighty glad I bought so many anyway!
The Packaging....
Mine never came in the pink box that is shown on the review photograph at the top of this page. If you can't see the review photograph for any reason it is bright pink with the the white locust at the top (the branding symbol for Lacoste) and in white writing your told it is indeed Lacoste, Touch Of Pink, that it's shower gel and the size is clearly stated. My tube was pink again with the branding and what it is and who it is by on the front and my size is stated which is 150ml. That's it in the information stakes! At the bottom of the tube there is a white plastic flip top lid concealing a small hole and you simply squeeze the tube and out the product comes. It's nice enough, simple packaging really and nothing all that special but I do like it's pinkness!
My Experience Of Using It....
Well of course it's a shower gel so I use mine in the shower (though I have used it in the bath too!). Dampen body, squeeze a little onto a sponge, scrunchy, flannel or hands and away you go. The gel itself is quite thick in consistency. It's a sort of transparent peach colour and quite stiff to the touch. You need about the size of a 10p piece to wash all over with and on contact with skin and water it lathers up quick smart into big thick, rich bubbles.
Smell wise this is really lovely and unusual. It's not an in your face intoxicated fragrance but it is quite strong for a shower gel. Although it is quite floral in smell and light and airy in it's approach it is quite fragrant and holds on the skin after using it for a good couple of hours making this perfect to use in conjunction with the matching products to this from Lacoste which are as far as I'm aware of and seen includes body lotion and eau de toilette, however due to it's lightish scent in the shower gel it's nice to use alone for bed (for a subtle hint of ravish me!) or with any other products you desire. It simply doesn't have to be used solely with the matching scent so is quite multi-tasking lol.
The scent is made up from is a concoction of blood orange, coriander, jasmine, violet with the richness of sandalwood and a hint of vanilla. To my nostrils as I previously mentioned it is mainly a floral smell though I can detect the orange giving it a slightly zesty kick and making the fragrance 'pop' out a bit and the vanilla and sandalwood give this a warm edge. It really is very flirty, sensuous and feminine and it's a pleasurable product to use on every level. Sometimes I feel it is more floral, other times I pick up the scent of fruits but whatever it is it's uplifting, sweet (but in a none sickly way) and very well blended and smooth to the nostrils.
As I'm using it and lathering it up my body not only feels like I'm cleaning it but it feels so soft on the skin and what's more you have enough lather there to shave your legs and bits and pieces with if you want to. Once you pat yourself dry you are clean and fresh, smell lovely and left gently fragranced as I said for a good couple of hours and skin feels really soft to the touch.
Basically this is a joy to use and since using this shower gel I have had a sample of the perfume and done a sniff test and note for note this is the same fragrance so if your a fan of said fragrance you should love this! It's simply a really nice, none fussy, none sticky, none irritating shower gel that cleans and leaves you smelling decadent. I am a fan! It is a great quality product and usually I'm not overly keen on designer matching products for perfumes. I feel usually they are over priced and over gimmicked simply giving you the fragrance and not much else. This really is different in that respect as it does a fine job! Would I buy it for £16.66? I would if I used the perfume and I'd use it on 'special occasions!' Very, very nice indeed and a real luxury in every sense of the word!
If interested in purchasing this product it is sold in Boots and places but do look out for bargains as I did. It is worth purchasing this on line and you can get it for as little as tenner a bottle if you scout about on places like Ebay and online discount stores.
Summary: Luxury in a tube that doesn't appear so luxurious!
