Advantages: Smells lovely, cleansing, lathers very well

Disadvantages: Very expensive, not terribly moisturising

I received this shower gel as part of a Christmas present along with a small bottle of the Lacoste Touch of Pink perfume, which I have since given to my granddaughter as it is a much too youthful fragrance for me. The shower gel I kept hold of though as I like perfumed cleansers and this morning had the chance to use it as I have now finished off all the half empty bottles in my bathroom.

It comes in a lovely bright pink tube that looks lovely on my bathroom shelf, it's very feminine in appearance and I think secretly my granddaughter was hoping I would give her this shower gel too!

I find this shower gel lathers wonderfully and I didn't need much on my sponge to create a thick and very cleansing layer of bubbles, for this reason I would imagine it would also be an excellent body cleanser to use in the bath as the gel keeps it's consistency well even when the shower water hit it.

The smell is wonderful, it's the same as the perfume but has been toned down and made to smell more floral overall. There is a slight citrus aroma to it but this seemed to fade rather quickly leaving me with a fairly strong bouquet of flowers. There is definitely jasmine involved in the creation of this shower gel as this is the scent that lingers on my skin, but apart from that I could not pick out any one discernible ingredient. In the shower I found this a little too strong if I'm honest and although it's certainly not a harsh scent at all I was hoping that the scent would lose it's potency when I dried myself.

Thankfully the smell doesn't linger too much and I almost wished I had a matching body lotion to layer the fragrance a little. I could detect the scent for a while afterwards and my daughter smelled the fragrance on my skin a good few hours later when she visited, I also noticed the scent lingered nicely on my bath towel afterwards.

I thought this shower gel was very cleansing and quite moisturising too, although I did find I had to use a body lotion afterwards as it didn't seem to give the level of moisturisation that I would expect from such a premium brand. I also found it rinsed off well which I was mildly surprised about considering how sticky the gel is before I had washed with it.

The shocking thing about this shower gel is the price, in Boots it's currently £16 for a 150ml tube which is extortionate for a shower gel so unless I find it on a very good special offer I shall probably not buy it again. It is lovely though, everything from the bottle to the cleansing abilities are excellent and I dare say to a lot of people it would be worth this money.

Summary: The perfume is a little too 'girly' for me, but this is an excellent shower gel.
