Laser Hair Removal in GeneralNewest Review: ... rid of all the hairs. Waxing and silk epil caused ingrowing hairs and shaving lasted about 24 hours only! It's not cheap. I am going with Harley Medical Group and it's costing me £2400 for full legs and extended bikini line. My first appointment was exactly 2 weeks ago and although (despite what they tell you) it does hurt and it takes about 2 hours to cover the whole area (more if you are ... more |

I had laser hair removal on my bikini line and armpits. A course of 6 was recommended for £535 every six weeks. I thought i was pleased with the results at first because the hair seemed to be less and less. Then my treatment was finished and over the next, say 6 months my hair is back looking just the same as before. I rang the clinic up, and they said that i probably needed another treatment. £150's later, it has made no difference what so ever!!
This was a total waste of money!!

Having suffered for years with excessive hair growth on my legs - we're talking legs that look like a man's if left - I finally decided to take the plunge and go for laser hair removal. I had never been able to wear any kind of skirt apart from floor length because waxing, silk-epil and shaving never got rid of all the hairs. Waxing and silk epil caused ingrowing hairs and shaving lasted about 24 hours only! It's not cheap. So I looked into this after a colleague advised me that this was now available on darks skin..(i.e Olive/Mediterranean, Asian, Black skin types etc). There is a new laser called Nd YAG Laser developed by Cutera which is approved by the FDA for permanent hair "reduction". There are a few places that do this but a popular one is RenewMedica. They start with an initial consultation where they are obliged to inform you of all the possible consequences and side effects on having laser surgery. Now, if that doesn't put you off and you decide to continue on a course of treatment then they will do a test patch on every area you want to get done as and when ... Read the complete review

Initial interest in laser hair removal began when ruby laser used for tattoo removal was also noted to have a sustained effect on the hair follicles. The theory of selective photothermolysis holds that the thermal injury will be confined to a specific target if there is preferential absorption of the light at an appropriate wavelength and the pulse duration or width is shorter than the thermal relaxation time of the target. Thermal relaxation time is defined as the time it takes for the target to cool to fifty percent of its peak temperature. The primary targets for laser hair removal are the hair follicle and the hair bulb. The endogenous target is ... Read the complete review

I have so far had two laser hair removal sessions on my extended bikini line, and I simply cannot wait for my third. I am having mine done at a SK:N clinic, and I could not be any happier with the results. After the very first session I already had areas the size of a 50p piece where there was no hair left! I think with two more sessions (that'll be four in total) i'll be totally done. Any hair that is still there is considerably finer and more sparce, i'm going on holiday soon, and I was one of those people who would wax but have re-growth after a few days, meaning I felt self concious, now i've had laser there will be none of that!! I am paying £149 a pop, so in total it'll be about £600....it's worth every single penny!! Go for it!
