Advantages: Reduces tartar, fresh breath and teeth look whiter
Disadvantages: Very strong
I was introduced to Listerine a few years and ago by a Canadian friend and being from Canada she really looks after her teeth. When I first tried the product I thought that is was the strongest mouthwash I've ever had but it did leave my teeth feeling clean and my breath fresh.
Listerine claims that it can reduce tartar build up and help prevent stains. I have to say after a few months of using this I did notice that tartar wasn't building up very fast and my teeth looked whiter too. Great news for those who are dentist haters.
This product should be used twice a day after brushing (morning, night). It very easy to use just pour 20ml (4-5 teaspoons) into a glass, rinse around teeth and gums and spit out. Be careful not to swallow, dilute (not sure why that is but it's on the instructions) or swig from the bottle.
Listerine is not suitable for children under the age of 12 and should be kept out of reach. However, it does have a safety cap on so if a young child did get hold of it, they shouldn't be able to open it. To remove the safety cap just squeeze and turn. Make sure when your closing the cap you turn until it clicks (locks).
There are many different flavours of the Listerine product, some stronger than others and can be found at any major supermarket. Depending where you get it from, it can cost anything between £1.99 - £3.00 for a 500ml bottle.
The mouthwash comes in a clear bottle so you can see when your about to run out. It also has two labels on it (front and back) with very clear instructions on.
Overall, this is a great product, it reduces tartar leaves you breath fresh and for me it's made my teeth look whiter. I would recommend this product but be aware that it is very strong.
Summary: A great mouthwash
