The direction says I have to gargle if for 30 seconds to get the optimum benefit. However, the burning sensation is almost unbearable for me so I have to spit it after about 8 seconds. The burning feeling just makes my eyes water so I have to knock off 1 star from my rating. EFFECT After gargling with Listerine Antiseptic Freshburst, ...more

Premium Review Listerine Freshburst: It Burns, It Burns!!! (329 words)

This must be on special offer at the minute and that's the only reason I can think we'd have it in the bathroom because my mum usually buys the supermarket own mouthwash. I got an infection in my gum a few months ago and it wouldn't go away for ages so the dentist gave me mega powerful antibiotics and said to use any mouthwash 3 times a day. I've got into the habit of doing it and now my mouth doesn't feel clean unless I've swilled with mouthwash at least in the morning after I've brushed my teeth, and I don't mind it because I like the taste of most mouthwashes. This Listerine is mad though, it's a proper bright green colour and the taste matches ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Don't swallow. (459 words)

I had never used a mouthwash until recently. My youngest son is 13, nearly 14 and has discovered girls (and now his troubles start). So decided on our last shopping trip that he wanted some mouthwash. Remembering that my dentist had suggested it to me also, as a compliment brushing teeth (which I always do too hard apparently), I went ahead and bought the Listerine. Bottle is clear plastic with a childproof black cap, plain front label showing the name of the product and a picture of some teeth and gums before and after Listerine use, 56% plaque reduction apparently, though no link to the evidence source, a big negative for anyone like me who has ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Listerine Freshburst: Swig When Your Winning... (1577 words)

After spending years, as a teenager, tripping to the dentist every two weeks for braces, fillings and root canal surgery, it was not surprising that taking care of my teeth was pretty much vital to me as an adult. Now, on the slippery slope to 40, the idea of that sadistic look on my dentist's face fills me with nerves like metal rods every six months. It is, in fact, no wonder that my dentist hasn’t retired on the amount of work that I have endured over the years. I tried everything. I mean everything, from chewing large amounts of gum like a bored Friesian cow to cutting out chocolate completely. Which, the latter, I might add, did gave me ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review For teeth, gums and fresh breath (683 words)

It was my dental hygienist who first recommended using listerine mouth wash, I had problems with inflamed gums (gingivitis)at the time and using listerine was part of a proposed dental cleaning regime to deal with it. I'm assuming that if a dental practitioner recommends it, it must be good for you, or is it ?. Listerine 'freshburst' comes in 250 ml, 500 ml and costs around £2 for the smaller sizes. The liquid has a florescence green appearance and the bottles have child proof caps (It's not suitable for use in children under 12 years of age). It says on the front of the bottle that listerine reduces plague by up to 56% more than brushing alone. It claims to ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Listerine Freshburst: Gargle With Watery Eyes (375 words)
by - written on 13/11/09 (Very useful, 95 readings)

I used Listerine Coolmint for years. When I saw this Listerine Antiseptic Freshburst, I decided to give it try. PACKAGING The clear plastic bottle is uniquely designed with its slip-proof body. The bottle is broad just below the neck and at the bottom part but is narrow at the center. This prevents the bottle from slipping from my hand even when it's wet. The bottle is transparent and colourless which makes me see the content clearly. The black screw lid also serves as a measuring cup for the mouthwash but I actually prefer to take it straight from the bottle. THE PROMISE * Prevents & Reduces Gingivitis * Fights ...  Read the complete review
