PURPLE TORTURE! In a nice way!! (Listerine Total Care)

Advantages: Really brings your mouth alive you certainly know that you have used it!!

Disadvantages: Quite expensive for what it is!

Years ago people cleaned their teeth and that was their dental hygiene for the day done, but things have changed a lot since then and now there are flosses, mouthwashes, teeth whiteners ect.. the list goes on and on.Not only are there mouthwashes, but so many to choose from the discount range for a few pennies to the top of the market range costings £'s.

Now this particular one Listerine Total Care costs £3.99 ( because this is Total Care it is about £1 dearer than the usual Listerine) which puts it at the top end of the market, but you can get it on special sometimes in the supermarkets in a B.O.G.O.F so thats when I stock up. I love this one as the smell takes me back to sitting in my dentists chair many years ago ( I have been since!!) when they used to have a little basin for you to rinse your mouth out into, with a pink solution that smelt just like this.

Now you have the adverts on the telly with someone rinsing and swishing this around their mouth when everything explodes around them, well that advert is very true as this does have that WOW when swooshed around the old gums.
It almost burns, but in a weird nice way as your mouth feels alive after doing this. It has a very antiseptic taste as if you have just put TCP in your mouth, but to me it leaves a sweet taste, that is after the numbness has gone from the tongue.It is like a form of mouth torture but in a pleasant way as it leaves your mouth very refreshed!!

Now what attracted me to this one was the packaging ( again!) in a clear plastic bottle, you can clearly see the purple liquid inside with a silver and purple label on the front. This has a childproof lock which is a very good idea, as this is not suitable for under 12 year olds. Now what this has over the other listerines is that it quotes of having 6 benefits in one which are;

Now the idea is that you brush your teeth in the morning and before going to bed, then put 20ml(online it says 10ml so who is right I don't know!) into a glass, rinse around your mouth for about 30 seconds, then spit out.I usually just pour into the lid and use that as a measure!. Don't eat or drink for 30 minutes after.

This particular one that I have is 500ml size, but you can buy it in a smaller version of 250ml if you just wanted to give it a try.

I do love the smell of this particluar one, so I do tend to stick to this one, but if I see any other ones on offer then I will give them try. I'll give this 3 stars as the price is a bit on the steep side if not on offer.

Summary: If you are looking for a really strong mouthwash then this is the one!
