Advantages: good for little girls

Disadvantages: overpowerful scent, drying on skin

This is a limited edition soap that appears in Lush shops to celebrate the Christmas period. Whilst superior to most soap from other retailers I don't think that this is Lush's best work.

I have always found that in Lush great care should be taken when choosing products. Lush has its own distinctive smell which although quite delicious is verging on overpowering. So when smelling a soap its own smell is toned down. If you pick up a chunk of this soap you may be kidded into thinking its fairly subtle but as soon as you leave the shop you will find that you are being haunted by pick-a-mix counter and a few days of this will leave you feeling a little nauseous.

Another big red cross against this product is it relies heavily on its scent to be rated as a product, and I’ve already hinted that this is not the Bee's Knees. It lacks the skin nourishing properties found in most other Lush products and this is quite upsetting. In fact it leaves skin pretty dry and stripped of its natural oils. It tries to make up for this by depositing glitter on the skin. Whilst this is alright for Christmas parties its quite over the top for normal days and to be honest I prefer skin that glows naturally from nourishment rather than superficially from glitter.

However this product is not a complete loss. It is reasonably priced at £2.95 for 100g, but be prepared to spend more than this as it is very difficult to cut exact 100g chunks. As it isn’t as creamy as most Lush soaps it lasts longer than most others and so is good value for money. The smell is really too sweet for all but the most girlish out there but I’m sure young girls will love it, glitter and all. It would make an amazing stocking filler, although be warned it can be smelled a mile off so there will be few surprised faces when it’s unwrapped. However if you want a truly unbeatable Christmas soap go for Snow Cake every time.

Summary: an unfortunate let-down from the stars at Lush

I went in the Lush shop with my boyfriend afew weeks ago and we spent about 15 minutes in there...he came out and said the smell was making him feel dizzy! lol.

Gr8 review. Don't think i'll be using this soap as my skin is quite delicate.
