Body care In General
= = = = = = = = = =
I have always tried to take care of my body, particularly my skin. I like to look my best anyway but I think this also stems from self-esteem and confidence issues, so I tend to make as much effort as I can with my body and appearance. I tend to use a wide range of different products such as moisturisers, lotions, scrubs and other beauty products and I tend to stick with one's that I find work well for me. An important part of looking after my body is moisturising and exfoliating which is an important thing to remember when applying fake-tan to give a streak free finish and natural looking tan. I have tried various body scrubs and whilst some of them feel as though they are working others can feel too harsh on my skin. I have been a fan of some of the products from lush for over 5 years now and tend to buy Buffy on regular occasions. It wasn't until recently that I also saw this product in store and an assistant told me about it that I decided to try it and give it a go to see how it was with my skin. It was also the perfect opportunity to write a new review as well.

The product is called Aqua Mirabilis and is a Body Butter from Lush which can be used all over the body (not the face!). The product helps to scrub away dead, dry skin and leaves it feeling soft and silky smooth. The product contains cocoa butter and almond butter to make sure that your skin is fed and well moisturised. The butters helps to make your skin feel moisturised whilst the small granules of the ground almond shells buff away dry, dead skin for brighter, healthier looking skin. The product claims to leave you skin bright and moisturised without it feeling greasy. It has a light fragrance which works with the nutty smell of the bar. The fragrance includes sandalwood as it is emollient and soothing on the skin and the Turkish rose absolute helps to improve the skins appearance. The product comes in a square shape which is a biscuity brown colour, you can see the grains within the actual bar, however the top and bottom of the bar feel very smooth and look slightly shiny. The top of the bar is textured slightly whilst the bottom of the bar is just flat and very smooth.

I purchased a 95g bar from my local Lush store for £5.95, this does seem to go up in price every year, however I do have a lot of faith in Lush products so I was willing to give it a try. You can also purchase this from the Lush website which is www.lush.co.uk. I have purchased other body scrubs before which have cost slightly more than this so I wasn't actually too bothered with the price so long as it was going to work well.
Using the Product

How to use the product: Smooth the bar directly over clean, wet skin, in the bath or shower. Have one final dip, and then you are ready to hop out and dry off, all polished and buff.
I don't have a very good shower so have to use this product whilst in the bath (I much prefer showers!). I stood up in the bath and took the bar from the Lush tin I purchased to keep it in. Using gentle circular movements I rubbed the over my body starting on the arms, I ensured I paid extra attention to the elbows where dry skin can sometimes occur. As I rubbed the bar over my body I could feel the ground almond shells which felt slightly rough on the skin but wasn't too harsh or scratchy. I then rubbed the bar over the rest of my body, again using circular movements to get a really good exfoliation. The product has a very light smell to it which I presume must be the sandalwood smell. The smell of the product wasn't too strong and smelt quite nice. When I got to my legs I again paid extra attention to my knees where dry skin may occur. After using the product I put it back into the tin and lay down in the bath again to wash the product off. As I lay in the bath I rubbed my skin with my hands to ensure all the grains and other parts of the bar were removed. As I was doing this it made the water turn into a white cloudy colour. I then simply got out of the bath and patted my skin dry.

After patting my skin dry I felt my arms and my legs and I was surprised at how smooth and soft they felt. They felt so moisturised and smooth. I could still smell the product, how-ever only very slightly and this was bound to disappear when I applied some of my body lotion. I was really impressed with the results from the first time I used the product and knew this would be a product that I would continue to use. I have now used the product a few times and I think my skin feels and looks a lot better than it did before. I feel as though my skin is getting a really good exfoliation, and after getting out the bath my skin feels so soft. The thing I love about the product is that although my skin feels soft and smooth, there is no greasy residue left on my skin after using the product.

This is another great product from Lush which I highly recommend to others. As the product comes in a bar it's so simple and easy to use and it's also really easy to grip. I much prefer this than using scrubs that you purchase in tubs as it's often hard to unscrew the lids when you've got wet hands, how-ever with the bar you don't need to worry about this as it's going to get wet anyway. I have used the product quite a few times and there's still at least half a bar left so I do think the product is longer lasting than some of these body scrubs that are available to buy. I love the light smell to the product and love the fact that it's not overpowering or too strong. Although I have sensitive skin the product was really kind to my skin and didn't cause any irritation. The grains in the bar are good enough to exfoliate but are also gentle so it doesn't scratch your skin or leave it feeling sore. In terms of value I don't really mind paying this much for a good product that actually works. I don't think the price of the product is actually that bad anyway and I don't think it's overpriced either. I highly recommend this product to others and I guarantee you will be impressed with the results.
