After seeing a horrifying tv programme last year and convincing myself that all ordinary anti-perspirant and deodorant would give me cancer, I embarked on a quest to find an effective replacement. The obvious place to start was Lush, where I had a great conversation about non-carcinogenic, non-synthetic, non-aluminium containing toiletries with the (as usual) very enthusiastic and helpful salesperson and left happily with one of Lush's solid deodorants - I think it was something like Teo. This was a powdery, chalky oval, and smelt great - I won't dwell on it because this review is not for it, but suffice to say that it rubbed my armpits and made them sore. (I have since ... I love Lush soap and reccently I have been exploreing the world of Lush and trying out non soap products, one such product is the Aromaco deodorant. I have a nice little 20g piece of Aromaco which I got in a Lush sample pack, to stop it from drying out I keep it in a little zip lock bag in my dressing table as it is a moist bar rather than most deodorants which are liquid in a bottle. Aromaco comes in blocks like the Lush soaps and is cut to size when purchased, it is an off white colour and has a bit of a yellow tint to it. This deodorant is quite similar to the stick deodorants which you can buy however it is not in the plastic caseing ... Read the complete review

It might seem like I am always in Lush buying lots of different new products to try but in fact I have only been in four times since the Manchester store opened in September. The second time I was in the store I changed my Lush shopping habits completleny by not buying either a bath bomb, bubble bar slice or slice of soap. Instead I was brave enough to pluck up the courage and buy Aramaco which is the patchouli scented bar in Lush?s innovative range of solid deodorants I had wanted to try one of these for ages but thought that at £2.90 per 100 grams they were pretty expensive compared to the £1.20 I roughly spend on deodorants usually. My other qualms were whether I ... Read the complete review

When I was a student, I used to while away the hours in what we called ‘head shops’ – you know, the ones with ty-dye clothes and joss sticks. They always stank of patchouli – as did a couple of the boyfriends I had and some of the floors I slept on. While my life is thankfully decades away from all that carefree unpredictability, I still like the smell of patchouli, although admittedly it is an acquired taste. I remember an ex who had a little brown bottle of this scent, which he wore liberally. When I was missing him once, I seem to recall borrowing his jumper because it smelt of him. Sadly, it had bags more personality than he did. ... Read the complete review

I decided to try this one this summer as i was bored of my old deodorants and thought i'd go for something a little more natural. This deodorant comes in a solid block and is available to buy from both www.lush.co.uk and also in-store.It is priced at £3.93 per 100g. Aromaco is perfumed with natural patchouli essential oil which has a cooling effect when applied to the skin.It also contains witch hazel infusion and sodium bicarbonate. The sodium bicarbonate helps to control sweating. DO NOT apply this deodorant to sore or broken skin and no way should it be applied after shaving.I made this mistake once and it stings like hell! Leave it a good four ... Read the complete review
