Advantages: Its nice and simple
Disadvantages: Not that fragrant
Now when I went over the the USA a while back, I couldn't decide which Lush items to bring with me! I was supposed to be travelling light! I have that many to choose from I decided to take none at all! My theory was that I will get to the nearest drugstore to pick up a bottle of showergel and as soon as I can get to another Lush store I was going to stock up!
I was like an excited child the next day, I just love the stores in the US, they are always so over the top! Incredibly colourful and the staff are bouncing off the walls with endless amounts of energy! Its fab! Like an adult's candy store really!
Now after a few bad choices with soaps with leaves, soaps and other bits and pieces stuck into it I decided to stay clear of those and go for something simple, nothing fancy!
I had never seen Avowash in the UK so I picked up a bar to see what it was like. Its a very pale colour, they call it avocado but I would prefer to say light green olive, just to be awkward! It has a rather lemon fragrance which is freshing. Like cool lemonade on a hot day!
It is supposed to have a lemon and forest fragrance (pine car airfreshner me thinks!) to zing up your mind! However you can't really made out this forest smell and it is mainly lemon.
It has blended avocadoes and olive oil to moisturise the skin and this really does work. The soap lathers up really well and it goes into a velvet lather which is so rich its lovely. I love the soaps which have more natual ingredients, I find after using this soap you really don't need to use a moisturiser as the olive oil really does the trick.
When in the bath the lemon smell is lost slightly which is a shame as thats what is supposed rejuvinate! The scent is more subtle yet fragrant, its quite a non-descript scent which for this soap is disappointing, I was expecting a lovely strong lemon scent.
I can't seem to win with my soaps! I don't like the ones with garden products in yet something which is what I looked for hasn't reach satisfaction either! This is a great basic soap, theres nothing hidden, it lathers up well, I love the fact that it has olive oil in as it really takes care if of the skin.
Unfortunately I cannot give a list of ingredients as the UK and USA store does not list the item for sale which is a shame so I can only think that its available either instore or not at all.
Lush do however to an Avobath Ballistic which is based on the same avocade/ lemon theme and is available online and in store.
If you do manage to pick up a bar I think it would be worth it but don't expect too much! Cut it up into a few pieces and use as and when, don't save it for a much needed soak!
Summary: Okay for everyday use
