Advantages: Great smell, good quality produce, ethical company
Disadvantages: a little expensive
Well, it had to happen didn?t it? I have been here for about fifteen months now, and I have read countless opinions about Lush products, despite this being a shop I had never set foot in. My opinion on lush at that time was that it was a shop that sold beauty products that stunk like crazy and I didn?t even like walking past. Anyway, I read more and more opinions, and decided that I would have to alter my paradigm on this store (you can tell I have a strategy exam in three days can?t you?). There isn?t a store near me, and while there is one in Glasgow, on my infrequent trips there, I hadn?t been able to get to the Lush store too. However, my excuses ceased last Friday, when I was walking down Princes Street, and spotted a Lush shop. Finally, Helencbradshaw goes in. I actually bought a total of three products. However the other two will need a much longer period to assess their usefulness, before I tell all on here. However, I did by ?Jill?s Daisy Bath Ballistic? which went straight into my bath on Friday night. Just what you need after five hours of taxi, train, bus and shank?s pony, which culminated in me getting soaked. Now, for those of you who have been hiding under a bushel, a Bath Ballistic is a spherical product, which you simply drop into your bath. I picked this product, because the ballistic contains dozens of daisies, and I picture myself relaxing in my bath, being surrounded by flowers. Apparently this is a new product, according to the lush website www.lush.co.uk. The Ballistic is a kind of pinky-purpley colour, and this is due to its other main ingredients which are lavender and rose oil. Great ingredients for a relaxing bath, I am sure all the ladies will agree. The idea is that you drop the ballistic in a pre run bath. Now my hubby was very generously keeping an eye on my running bath for me (it takes about a week to fill you see ? joys of a combi boiler). In his infinite wisdom, he decided to pour some
bubble bath of some unknown origin into the bath, creating piles of bubbles. So it was a sight to be seen, as I scooped out all the bubbles with a colander and proceeded to fill up both the bathroom sink and the toilet trying to get rid of the little beggars. Finally, the water was clear, and I dropped in the ballistic! The ballistic fizzes like crazy, for what seemed like about five minutes or so. Eventually I climbed in. Now the flowers weren?t quite like the rose leaves I had imagined myself bathing in, but were quite black, and at first it felt like I was sharing a bath with a couple of hundred of curled up spiders. However, I soon got over that feeling, and proceeded to enjoy my soak. The water was lovely and soft and a pleasure to lie in, I did not want to get out. Afterwards, my skin smelt and felt very clean and fresh, and altogether pleasant. The Bath Ballistics are priced at around £1.85, which I used to think was dreadfully expensive for one bath, but I have to say I enjoyed the experience thoroughly and will be placing an order for more on the website very soon. Lush pride themselves on making products which are made from fresh food and vegetables, with the finest essential oils and without testing on animals and all their suppliers conform to a similar code of practice. - 09/10/02 I saw this ballistic in Lush the other day, but haven't tried it yet. I did buy a Butterball though.
