Advantages: Can get two bathes out of it

Disadvantages: None

I have been a fan of bubble bars for years, without fail I have enjoyed hundreds if not thousands of bathes using a bubble bar from Lush. If you know Lush you will know that they are one of the best selling products in the store and most of them are golden oldies and have been kicking around since the beginning if not very soon after. Bubble bars are displayed on what seems like a cake stand all piled up high forming a mountain!

One that I have been using for years is Blue Skies and White Fluffy Clouds the fact that it is so colourful really does want to make you buy it! But please do not confuse it with The Comforter Bubble Bar as even though the swirled pattern is the same The Comforter is a fuchsia colour and Blue Skies is well...blue! Blue Skies is circular in shape with white swirled in it and is quite a size in comparison to other bubble bars.

Blue Skies contains patchouli is one of those extreme oils; most people either love it or hate it and surprisingly I am one of those who actually really doesn't like it that much so its weird I actually use this bubble bar! So if you're one of those people who detest patchouli, you are hereby warned that the double-sized Blue Skies & White Fluffy Clouds (meant to be broken in half for use in two baths - hence the size) is chock full of it.

If this bath were taken by Eric Cartman from South Park, he'd be quick to scream his usual "Die, hippies, die!" Me, I prefer to say that if Edie Brickell and The New Bohemians' 1989 "Shooting Rubberbands At The Stars" CD had a fragrance, this would be it. Yes I have grown up with two ex-hippy types so you can kind of imagine what sort of music I listened to as I was growing up and has since followed me to adulthood!

Now, I'm generally not a big fan of patchouli myself and can tolerate it! But even though Blue Skies does indeed smell a bit like a pass-it-around bottle of perfume at a commune, the combination of sweet and spicy patchouli alongside meditative, balsamic frankincense and warming cinnamon leaf oil makes this one of Lush's most calming, centering baths ever and yet the patchouli somehow manages to get drowned out by the other relaxing scents!

The mind is instantly soothed, even as the body is rejuvenated thanks to cinnamon giving your circulatory system a healthy kick in the you know what. And it's so uplifting and warming that I daresay it's what Lush's Psychodelic Bubble Bar should have been. Bathing in lively teal seas topped by the fluffiest white clouds of bubbles you'll ever encounter in your lifetime, it truly is no wonder that Blue Skies & White Fluffy Clouds has managed to stick around since Lush's birth over ten years ago.

Not only does Blue Skies provide a wonderfully coloured bath but it also softens the skin well. I found that after getting out the bath I only needed a light moisturiser and the best thing is that the wonderful sweet but subtle smell stays with you all day leaving you relaxed permanently! Just remember after you get out the best to rinse it off as no doubt the sparkling blue water would leave a ring if left!

What Lush say:-

"Calming, grounding, swirly blue and white bar for peaceful baths.
A bath in superbly relaxing patchouli scented Blue Skies water is as relaxing as if you were meditating in the peaceful garden of a Far Eastern temple (round the back away from the elephants) while enjoying the scents of the exotic blooms cultivated there. Picture this and we bet you're already feeling better. Use our patchouli and frankincense scented Blue Skies and Fluffy White Clouds and it's almost as restful as being there"

Blue Skies will cost you £3.87 and it is available online and in store. The price is a lot more than other bubble bars but don't forget this was designed for two baths so all in all it will cost you £1.94 per bath and no other bubble bar will cost you that! Blue Skies has to be definite must in your Lush supply stash as it truly is relaxing and refreshing all at the same time!

Summary: Buy it!

I like this one too, although find it doesn't crumble as well as other bubble bars.
