“ Brand: Lush / Powder / Type: Dusting Powder / Subcategory: Powder „
I love this dusting powder as it has the exact same scent as the Snow Fairy shower gel. The dusting powder is similar to talcum powder, except this one has sparkles added to it, perfect for use just before a party. The powder is lovely to shake all over your body after a bath or shower. I usually shake the powder onto my body in small bursts and then rub it in. The powder smells lovely, really girly and really sweet. The powder can be a little messy to use so make sure you put a towel down or something as your carpet will turn white! I find that the powder leaves my skin super soft and it's also great to apply under the arms after shaving as the powder is mild and gentle, it doesn't irritate the skin. It calms the skin down and deodorises it. You can also use the powder as a dry shampoo. Simply shake the powder onto your roots and blend in with your fingertips. The powder absorbs excess oil and grease and the sparkles in the powder make your hair look really funky. You can also shake the powder into smelly shoes to combat the odour. The powder lasts a while as a little goes a long way. The scent doesn't fade either. I would suggest shaking the tub first before you shake the powder out as sometimes the sparkles settle on the bottom of the tub. A great dusting powder from Lush.
Much to my horror, one of my favourite shops, Lush, announced recently that they were discontinuing a number of items. My first reaction was, I'm afraid to say, to make a list of these products and rush out to buy any that I wanted to try but hadn't already. Candy Fluff Dusting Powder was one of these. Dusting Powders are Lush's versions of talcum powder, I guess. I'd always thought of talc as something used by small children, based largely on memories of Johnson's talc from when I was little, but Lush's versions are much more grown up, and come in smart black containers with the usual 'shaker' bit at the top to let the powder out (I'm sure it must have a technical name, but I don't know what it is!). Lush describe Candy Fluff as a "super-twinkly body powder with an inviting scent of sweet shops. Candy Fluff is so much more than just fluffy; it's very sparkly, too, with golden sparkles and iridescent twinkles. It smells like a candy shop. You'll either love it or you'll hate it. If you adore sweet scented and sparkly things, this is for you. Or maybe your girlfriend." Candy Fluff is made from cornstarch and talc, and is suitable for vegans. One of the things that first drew me to this product was the smell. Candy Fluff smells just like Snow Fairy shower gel, the delicious sweet-smelling product that is only around at Christmas. This dusting powder is a way to get the lovely scent of Snow Fairy all year round - at least, it would be if Lush weren't discontinuing it. Also, you could use the powder alongside Snow Fairy shower gel and/or the solid perfume to layer the scent. Getting the powder out is just like normal talc - just tip it on your hand and apply it to your body. You could probably tip it directly onto your body but this could be awkward and messy. It's pretty inevitable that the powder will get on the floor - it is powder after all - but luckily I have the sort of carpet that really doesn't show this sort of thing up! Alternatively you could always invest in some sort of powder puff to avoid the mess. In your hand, the powder looks like normal talc - white. However, when you apply it to your skin, you can see the sparkles under the light and the effect is very pretty. I tend to only use this product when I'm going out, and I only use it on my shoulders, chest and arms, because there's not much point being all sparkly when no one can see it! The effect is quite subtle too, I did worry if the sparkles were going to be really full-on, like a ten year old going mad with glitter gel, but this wasn't the case at all: it looked quite grown-up. I personally didn't find the sparkles got everywhere, but perhaps that's because I applied the product sparingly. The powder does smell reasonably strongly (though not overpoweringly so) of Snow Fairy, and while I do like the smell, I did worry if it would clash with my perfume. In the end it didn't (Valentino Rock n' Rose, if anyone's interested) but depending on your perfume this could be a problem. Of course, the smell is so lovely that you may well decide you don't need any perfume at all! I really like this product, and despite the fairly high price (£6.10 for 80g) I imagine it will last me a long time, especially as I will only be using it when I'm going out. Lush's products do have use-by dates, but this dusting powder will last for over a year since purchase according to my tub, and possibly beyond that (DO such powders have a use-by date? Really?). Other reviews of dusting powders have suggested dusting them on your bedsheets to make them smell nice, but while I'm sure I'd enjoy the smell I'm not so keen on the prospect of waking up every morning covered in glitter. Nevertheless, I'm pleased with my purchase, and would urge anyone intrigued by the product to pick some up quickly, before it's all gone!
Candy Fluff is a dusting powder from Lush. Basically it's a posh scented talcum powder. The scent is fantastic. It's sweet and candy-like with a little fruitiness. It's similar to the Snow Fairy range as well as Rock Star soap. I would describe it as smelling very pink. After use, your skin stays scented with this for hours. You use this product just like talcum powder. Simply turn the lid to reveal holes, shake some into your hand and rub it on to your body. It looks like regular talc but with added glitter. It contains both gold and irredescent sparkles which you can see in the powder. Once on your skin you're left with little twinkly bits of glitter, something I enjoy, but might not be for everyone. Because of the glitter this is probably more a pre-night out product rather than an everyday one. This left my skin feeling soft and smooth and stopped my clothes (especially my socks) sticking to me after my shower. Ordinary talc would do this too, but I like the added scent and glitter that this offers. The packaging is quite boring as with most Lush products. It comes in a black cardboard cylinder with a turnable lid. It won't look great on your dresser, but at least you know you're not paying for fancy packaging. My one criticism of this is that it's quite messy. I'm left with bits of powder and glitter all over my bathroom floor after using this and I find the glitter is hard to clear up. I often find bits all over the house and it does tend to cling to me even when I've not used this in a few days. Currently this costs £6.10 for an 80g container. It's quite expensive but as with all Lush products it's a treat rather than an everyday product, so I find mine lasts me for ages. I'd recommend this to all lovers of pink and sparkly things.
If you're already a fan of all the gorgeous sweet smelling products from Lush such as the "should be available all year round but isn't" Snow Fairy Shower Gel and the yummy Melting Marshmellow Moment then I highly recommend trying this fab dusting powder that will you leave you scented like a candy shop and sparkling like the glitter fairy! Yes, it contains glitter, golden sparkles and iridescent twinkles to be prescise, but it's subtle enough to be used during the day and doesn't leave you going into the office looking like a Christmas tree! It leaves your skin silky smooth and the scent lingers all day long and as you move your arms about, a gorgeous smell of candyfloss wafts up into your nose. Good to use after a bath all over your body, but especially on your feet, especially if you are wearing sandles or flip-flops as it helps eliminate clammy sweaty feet sticking to them! My only gripe, and it isn't even about the product itself, it's about the packaging. It isn't the gorgeous packaging you see in the photo anymore, it's been replaced by a somewhat boring black tub, I know you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover and it's what's inside that counts, but all the same, I would still prefer the pretty packaging as shown above. As well as using it for it's intended use, I have heard of people using it as a dry shampoo to make their hair smell sweet and also sparkle, I've also heard of people shaking some on their bed sheets, but the best one, and one that I've tried, is to sprinkle some on your carpet like shake and vac to leave your carpet smelling fragrant and so scenting your whole room....the shake and vac dance is totally optional of course! Comes in a 80g tub for £5.86. I have awarded it 5 stars, I could have taken one off for the packaging but I won't, because as I said, looks aren't everything, it's the product that really counts.
Being a total Lush junkie I am making it my mission to try out all the products, from soaps to shower gels and even an emotibomb (shower bomb) so when I saw that they did a talc powder in my favourite type of scent (sweet and girly) I thought I'd give it a go! I wouldnt normally use talc as I have never had a reason to, I always presumed it was a product aimed at babies or those who may have got a little bit too sweaty, however after using this I am now a converted talc fanatic. Candy Fluff is a delicate and fine talc with odd bits of glitter scattered throughout. It has a scent that I can only compare to sweets or as the Americans like to say Candy (hence the name) I would reccommend it to anyone who likes similar smelling products from Lush such as Rock Star soap, Snow Fairy Shower Gel, Melting Marshmellow Moment Bath melt etc. I use the product after I've showered and patted the skin dry, it leaves it feeling soft, lightly scently with the occasional sparkle dotted about. If used on just washed skin it sinks in perfectly, not leaving any white marks or making the skin feel tight, however if used on dry skin or overly wet skin it doesnt seem to have the same effect. Lush promote that they only use fresh organic fruit and veg, essesntial oils and safe synthetics in their products, and no testing on animals takes place, this product is also suitable for Vegans, which I suppose is always good to know! The packaging is kept quite plain as they like to put all their effort into making whats inside the bottle the best part. Definately one of my favourite Lush products, the only downside is that at £5.63 it is probably more expensive than other Talc on the market, however this is because you pay for what you get, which is a delicious smelling and luxurious body powder!!!
This is a prduct that you buy for smell rather than to actually use. I personally dont use talc for anything other than my feet in the summertime but when I saw this in Lush I bought it because it smells a bit like one of my other favourite fragrances Rock Star soap. it does everything a talc should do but doesnt feel drying or synthetic due to the natural ingredients. The only negative i would say is that the pieces of glitter are a little too big and sometimes can feel a little scratchy on your skin.
This is my top Dusting power product from Lush, Rumours have it that Lush was going to remove this product before Christmas but lucky for me its still available today. This is an ideal gift for teenagers and females who like the girl treatment :) Smell/ Aroma / Look: This dusting power (Talc) is white and includes little bits of glitter. Its smells of strong Candy (Just like seaside candyfloss), probably why i like it some much. The smell lasts for a long time when you put this on. How to use: Its very simple you use just sprinkle on your skin and dust over with your hand. You can buy a dusting sponge from places like boots which help you get a more even effect, its similar to a blusher brush but larger. If you do get on your clothes, its very easy to remove just tap with hand, you may have some glitter left but will soon fade after a short while. How it makes you feel: It makes you feel like a princess and the candy smell really makes you feel on top of the world. The Powder when on the skin is very gentle and soft, you do end up with some glitter on you but its not much and it looks lovely. This is ideal for a girls night on the town or a pampering evening. Ingredients: Cornstarch (Zea mays), Talc, Magnesium Carbonate, Synthetic Musk, Perfume, Iridescent Sparkles (Polyethylene terephthalate & Acrylates copolymer), Golden Glitter (Polyethylene terephthalate and FD&C Yellow No.5), How much: 80 g standard tub costs £3.95 Rating: One of my top products from lush so give it a big 10/10
