Good, but not for me (Lush Fair Trade Foot Lotion)

Disadvantages: A little greasy

Last week I picked up a trial size pot of this Fair Trade Foot Lotion as part of Lush's '10 products for a tenner' foot care deal.

Recently, as the weather has been so good, I've been wearing shoes and sandals that aren't as kind to my feet, and so they've been bashed around a bit and suffered from blisters, rubbing, pressure on the heel - you name it.

So that made it the ideal time to try out my new Lush lotion. I believe it comes in the black pot above as standard, however my mini version is a clear pot with a black screw top lid.

Untwisting it, the smell hit me first - it's very strong and minty, kind of like toothpaste! It's a pinkish colour, not very thick, and looks creamy. It feels surprisingly cool to the touch, particularly when I rubbed in into my feet as the relief was instant. I have to say I have a bit of a thing about feet and hate touching them, particularly the rough skin on my own, but the lotion made it bearable and even pleasant.

The mint smell is very strong though so I'd avoid putting it on just before you go out, unless you have an appropriate mint scented perfume to match (?!)

The only disadvantage is that it does get a bit greasy, even only using a little. I found it to be more silky than greasy on my skin, but even rubbing it in with my fingers still made it difficult to get the lid screwed up again. I imagine on the black pots you may end up with fingerprints all over it.

I have to say I'm undecided about whether I personally will buy this again. I don't use foot products regularly and so buying a big tub would probably be overkill and remain half full at least past the use by date.

However, if you're looking for a good foot lotion to use regularly I would recommend this product. And if not, as part of the 10 for £10 deal, you can't go too far wrong :)
