The smells I detect are mainly the cocoa butter, shea butter and sandalwood, with a hint of the sweet flower scents. It's quite a delicate smell really.

This is a bar that's really rich in oils, that melt at body temperature as you rub it between your hands. Its a lot less messy to use for massage than an oily liquid, as there is no risk of spillage. It's best to keep it in one of the tins that Lush gives away free with every purchase of two bars. You can buy the tin, but these bars are so lovely it's worth splashing out on two different ones and getting your free tin.

If someone is giving you a lovely back massage with one of these it's a wonderful sensation, and it doesn't all disappear into your skin too soon. If you're the one giving the massage, you'll find the bar has a fabulous moisturising effect on your hands.

And really that's the thing I mostly buy this for. At night I melt some onto my hands, and rub it in, which of course is really oily, so then I put a pair of cotton gloves on for five minutes. When I take them off my hands have benefited from the rich oils, but they're not going to smudge it all over the sheets. It's also great to use around the neck area if you've been out in the sun all day, and on dry areas like the elbows or heels. I prefer this to hand cream or body lotion as it contains no parabens.

Fever might seem expensive at £4.95 a bar, but you really only wear off a little of the bar when you melt some onto your hands. It lasts ages!

Summary: A luxurious alternative to massage oil, with no spillages.
