I'm a long supporter of Sea Shepherd and there plight to stop wreckless violence and hurt to defenceless animals. I think their work is really starting to open peoples eyes about the suffering marine life are going through. Anyway my friend in Canada sent me an e-mail with the link from the Canadian website showing the limited edition bubble bar. Fortunately he said he'd ordered me a few! I was overjoyed that my passion of Lush and animals had been combined!!

Lush created a new bubble bar in the shape of a baby seal especially for the campaign. Called 'First Swim' because many baby seals are slaughtered so young they haven't even had a chance to go into the water. "We thought it would be lovely to give this baby seal its first swim," they say. Ido, too.

Their limited edition bar comes package-free, but is adorned with a reusable seal face sticker (just make sure you take it off before you put it in the bath!!!) encouraging users to Save Our Seals (and you'll be doing a small part yourself, because 100% of the proceeds from the sales of the bar are donated to Sea Shepherd Conservation Society - I think this is very noble of Lush and I hope millions have sold!!

The natural ingredients include a combination of lime and lavender oils, along with the light scent of seaweed, marrying a calm freshness with a hint of the ocean. It's primary scent is citrus, perfect for unisex use. It's cleverly rolled in coconut shavings akin to the fur of a seal pup, giving a unique texture to the first few uses of the bar. The fragrance is exactly like Lush's soap Sea Vegetable which is also another of my favourites and a regular in my bathroom!

To make sure my few lasted longer, I chopped them up into half and wrapped the one I wasn't using in clingfilm. The bubbles I got from just one half was great!! Soft white bubbles covered my bath and made the water feel really smooth. This bubble bar is ideal for use at night as the lavender oil is really soothing and any work day stress will soon be forgotton and you can concentrate on helping the seals while enjoying a very very relaxing bath!!

Dominating the window of most of LUSH's North American stores will be a giant picture of a seal with the words 'End Canada's License to Kill' splattered in red paint. LUSH shop staff will give customers information about the plight of seals and urge them to put pressure on the government by signing postcards that LUSH will be sending directly to Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

The only drawback? It's limited edition: but I think that LUSH should keep this on tap (and start selling in the UK!!!), continue to aid in protecting the seals, and keeping our skin clean and bodies smelling wonderful.

The vegan First Swim Bubble Bar retails at $5.95 - which I don't think is bad at all. However I'm noticing many of these finding there way onto Ebay!! I know the proceed won't go to charity but they would of when the seller bought it! Or if your feeling really charitable why not donate on Sea Shepherd's website!!
