Advantages: Smells gorgeous, contains shimmer

Disadvantages: Fiddly to use

It's almost Christmas, which means that it's almost time for Lush to bring out their Christmas range. "Gold, Frankincense and Beer" is an unusual and quirky gift - it's a little tub of shower jelly that showcases Lush's finest qualities, being glittery, nice-smelling, imaginatively named and fun as well as luxurious to use.

Shower jellies can be put in the freezer or fridge or kept at room temperature, depending on how you want to experience your shower. I find using them cold quite unappealing but room temperature or gently heated by the steam from the shower it's lovely.

They're also very economical in that you only need to use a very small amount and it goes a very long way. I'm still using mine from Christmas - I was using others as well, but still there's a fair bit left after perhaps 80-100 uses.

The only downside is that it's a bit fiddly to use. If you just pull off a piece and work it into a lather in your hand, you get a lovely lather but you're likely to lose the chunk of jelly down the drain. The easiest thing is to squish it into the middle of a shower puff and scrub away.

This makes a great gift - inexpensive, environmentally sound, quirky, fun and wonderful to use. I'm hoping that Santa picks up my hints and brings me some again this Christmas!

Summary: Gorgeous shower jelly makes an ideal gift

I don't know the cost because it was a gift last year and isn't on the website because it's a Christmas special. I doubt it'll be over £5/100g, probably significantly below.
