It was my birthday last week, and my lovely fiancé surprised me with a collection of wonderful Lush products. I really love Lush but, though I often go in for a smell and a dream, I can rarely afford the high prices. Having already reviewed the Fair Trade Foot Lotion, I am now reviewing The Happy Pill, my first Lush bath ballistic experience. The Happy Pill was probably selected for me because, despite being a lovely person, I can be a right moody cow. The second half of 2008 was particularly fraught for me which of course meant my poor fiancé had the pleasure of a grumpy, tetchy, and often upset girlfriend repeatedly taking it out, unfairly, on him. Poor ... Read the complete review

Like Marmite, you either love it or you hate it.... Lush that is! Personally, I love it and I love it because their products are innovative, interesting, unusual and different and with a whole host of exotic names and fragrances for the simplest of products, they will remain attractive. One of my all time favourite Lush products are Bath Ballistics. Why? Because spending an hour or so in a hot bath with mind-blowing aromas with a good book and hopefully a nice glass of chilled wine for me, is the perfect way to relax and chill out. Ballistics is ball shaped bath bombs, which are made up of bicarbonate of Soda and packed full of essential oils, which give off ... Read the complete review

I've been trying to avoid Lush recently as I was spending a fortune in there, however on a recent trip to Edinburgh, I couldn't resist treating myself to a little something - or four little something's if I'm honest! One of these little treats was a Happy Pill bath ballistic (or bath bomb) and I think it's one of the only ballistics from the current range I still wanted to try, mainly because I love citrus scents. This ballistic as you can see from the picture is round and flat, and supposed to look like a big pill. The orange side is supposed to smell like Lush's Olive Branch shower gel, whilst the yellow side has the scent of Happy Hippy shower gel. I own ... Read the complete review

Lush Happy Pill: I finally caved in the other day and made an order from the Lush site; I had been trying not to as I have stacks of bubble bath etc in the bathroom just taking up space and needing to be used and I had told myself that I wouldn't buy any more toiletries until I needed them. So much for that plan! One of my choices was the Happy Pill, (the products were meant to be "cheering me up" after all), which is a big, (and I mean big, it is about the size of the diameter of a toilet roll), half yellow, half orange pill shaped ballistic, (a "both bomb"). For those of you that have not heard of Lush, (there might ... Read the complete review

Bath and body companies the world over regularly replicate Lush's fizzing bath inventions. (Over afternoon tea, I recently learned from Mark Constantine that the first ever "Ballistics" to grace planet Earth were actually Aqua Sizzlers from Lush's Cosmetics to Go brand way back in 1988). Of course, Bath "Bombs" are everywhere now, but they're rarely as good as Lush's, with the Lush team's boundless creativity ultimately -- and consistently -- setting them apart from their copycat competitors. And yet again, in true Lush style, they've decided to raise the bar on all of those imagination lacking, machine-made imposters. Recently on Ebay ... Read the complete review
