Advantages: a brilliant hand cream

Disadvantages: only available from Lush

I suffer from really dry skin and my hands are the part of my body which seem to suffer the most leading to really dry, sore and cracked skin. I have used many hand creams over the years and Helping Hands is now one of my favourites.

Helping hands costs £5.94 for a 100g pot from Lush which might seem expensive until you realise that a little goes a very long way and I have been using my pot at least once a day for a couple of months and still have a little bit left. The higher price tag for Lush products compared to a cheaper handcream is due to the fact that it contains such high quality ingredients including linseed oil, shea butter, almond oil, cocoa butter, lavander oil and African marigold oil, just reading this list of ingredients you can see how moisturising it is. As a bonus when you take the empty black pots back to Lush you can exchange 5 of them for a fresh face mask.

Helping hands was originally made for nurses who have their hands in and out of water all day. I'm not a nurse but everyday activities like washing the dishes, cleaning the kitchen and gardening all irritate my hands.

The cream is very thick and a pale pinky beige colour, the cream itself is so thick that you can turn the pot upside down and the cream will not fall out. I think that the cream smells like honey which is odd as it doesn't contain any honey but whatever it smells of it is really sweet and nice.

I only need a tiny little smear of the cream to cover both of my hands, it feels really oily and as soon as I put it on my hands feel really soothed. As I'm sure people with dry hands know there are days when I apply the cream dozens of times when my hands are really bad, it sinks in reasonably quickly and leaves my hands feeling nice and smooth and soft after repeated uses. Many creams can make your hands feel sore when they are cracked but this cream has never irritated my hands at all.

I have also used helping hands on my feet during the summer when I was wearing sandals a lot. The skin on my feet is not really dry but using helping hands helped it feel really soft and supple and helped my feet look nicer when they were on display.

As you can probably tell I love helping hands, if you are like me and frequently need a good handcream then this is one for you to try.

Summary: Helps your feet look brilliant too

I bought this last Christmas and found it to be really good. I'm not keen on their pots though but the product is brilliant - couldn't agree more with you.

Works out cheaper than their foot stuff too!

Ohhh all those 'oils' make it sound really soft! I keep meaning to try this one, but have too many Lush products to get through at the moment ;)
