Advantages: Cheap, plentiful, effective and keeps the hands moisturised for hours;slightly styptic properties.

Disadvantages: Love/Hate aroma, only available from Lush

Being a manual worker my hands do tend to get very dry, grazed, cut and very sore. I have been using the employers standard barrier cream (some industrial stuff) but this is a HUGE tub of non-descript non-effective white muck that tends to take about half an hour to rub in. By the time you've rubbed it in, it stops being effective. I thought about renaming it the "catch-22" cream...

I therefore decided to invest in a tub of "helping hands" from Lush. It comes in quite a large tub (120grams),and appears to all intents and purposes like a pile of pink goo. Now one important point of view with this product is the smell;yep, you'll either love it or hate it and everyone else will notice it too. I've had many a colleague come into the office and remark on the smell, unfortunately it's usually negative. It kind of smells like alcoholic or gone off fruit. The words "orang-utan" and "enclosure" are at the forefront of my co-workers' minds. I personally quite like it, but then again I have some strange tastes and I like orang-utans.

It contains such nice things as cocoa butter, honey, lavender oil and almond oil. It goes on smoothly (you don't need much of it) and rubs in quite quickly, and leaves a nice moist barrier behind on your skin. It lasts a long time (I've been using the same tub since last summer). It also claims to help sores and cuts (according to the blurb),this I'm pleased to say is true. It might not be a miracle cure but it does indeed help.

What can I say, another damn fine product;albeit with a rather "unique" aroma.
