Advantages: smells lovely when dry, soft skin

Disadvantages: scent doesn't really linger when in the water

I've been trying to cut back on my spending when it comes to beauty products, and rather than spending money on Lush bath bombs, I've been buying cheaper bottles of bubble baths instead. When I was in Edinburgh recently though, I couldn't resist popping into Lush, and somehow managed to convince myself that because I was away from home, it was OK to treat myself to a couple of things - any excuse, eh?!

One of the ballistics I bought was Honey Bun, which is a limited edition Easter ballistic. I must admit, I had already eyed this up online beforehand, and was eager to try it, as it shares the same scent as one of my favourite Lush ballistics (scent wise anyway), Honey Bee. The problem with Honey Bee for me though, I must admit, is that it contains Rhassoul mud, which is a little gritty and leaves grains in your bath which I don't like. This one doesn't contain the mud though, and is simply a plain ballistic with the Honey Bee scent, which made it even more appealing to me.

The ballistic is smaller than your average Lush ballistic (although this is reflected in the price) and is shaped like a bunny rabbit, complete with floppy ears and happy smile. It's a very cute little ballistic and would be great as a little gift.

The smell of this is delicious. If you're already familiar with Honey Bee, then you'll know what it's like, because as far as I can tell the scent is identical, but if you're not then I'll try to describe it for you. It contains sweet orange oil, gardenia oil and bergamot oil, so you might expect an orangey citrus scent, but in fact it's a sweet honey-like toffee scent. I've found that some honey-scented products can smell a little bit medicinal - Lush's Flying Saucers is one example of this - but this is simply sweet, and a little bit like toffee. It's a gentle, inoffensive scent, and I swear I could breathe it in all day - it's amazing, and it goes great with Lush's Honey I washed the Kids soap, which has a similar scent.

On dropping this into the water it fizzes away turning the water a bright yellowy-green colour. It's not the most attractive colour ever, but that's not really the most important thing to me. The scent of the product starts to come out as it dissolves, and you start to get a slight hint of the citrussy fragrances, before it settles down to the same sweet toffee scent as it has when dry. Disappointingly, I found that the fragrance doesn't really linger, and all but disappears after around 5 minutes.

The ballistic creates a very slight oiliness to the water, but it's not as luxurious as some of the others which you can feel having a skin-softening effect as soon as you get into the bath.

I found after my bath my skin felt soft and was very smooth, yet the inclusion of the oils didn't seem to moisturise at all, and my skin felt a little bit dry. The scent didn't stay on my skin which again was disappointing.

A Honey Bun bath ballistic costs just £1.85, which is very reasonable for a ballistic, and these bunny shaped Easter ballistics are actually the cheapest ones Lush sell. Although this was an Easter special, they are still available to buy on the Lush website.

Overall, this was OK - it smells absolutely delicious when dry, the problem comes when it's actually in the water, when it doesn't seem to have such a great effect on the skin, and the scent disappears. I think I felt a little disappointed with it really, but still I'd have no objections to using it again.

Summary: An OK ballistic
