Advantages: Great goodies & affordable

Disadvantages: None

Its been a while since I have reviewed a Lush gift and thought it was time I ought to considering in the past week I have bought about five for friends birthdays! My recent trip to London ended up with me exploring the Regent Street store. I know each Lush store sells the same as the next but because the stores are always so different its nice to have a good look around!

My cousin's birthday is in a week and as she also likes Lush but as she lives out in the countryside getting to a Lush store is not always easy! I ended up buying Honey Farm for her, there was no particular reason but as I happen to love all the ingredients in the gift then I'd like to think she will like them too!

Contains: Honey I Washed the Kids Soap, Flying Fox Shower Gel, Honey Bee Bath Ballistic, Ma Bar

Honey I Washed The Kids:-

Okay, do you remember the taste of Worthers Original? Well, that flavour is exactly how Honey I Washed the Kids smells (and it's even the same colour, too!) So suffice it to say that if you loved those sweets, you'll love this soap (with honey, bergamot, & orange as its fragrant foundation) to no end. You'll also love Soft Coeur massage bar, Ma Bar bubble bar, and perhaps Honey Bee ballistic, as well.

Once showered & dry, the lingering scent on your skin will be quite subtle, which is perfect if you're not generally accustomed to draping your body in ultra-sweet fragrances. Honey is amazingly good for soothing & smoothing the skin (credit Egypt for this discovery, not me) and Lush uses its every advantage to the full here.

Speaking of honey, like many Lushies I, too, was at first a bit perplexed as to what could be done with the thin layer of decorative honeycomb on top. But then I found the perfect solution: use it to gently pumice your dry heels whilst showering. Works wonders, this!

Flying Fox:-

I'm generally a big fan of jasmine, but even I have my limits when it comes to partying at the ol' Jasmine Love-In Festival otherwise known as a Flying Fox shower. This was (sort of) Lush's replacement for their discontinued B Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful Shower Gel, which was primarily a dense, bittersweet honey & red clover affair with just a dash of jasmine. But with Flying Fox, Lush has opted to up jasmine's volume -- so much so that initially, the voice of more subtle notes (ylang ylang, cypress, and palmarossa oils) inevitably get lost in the bass line.

At the same time, even honey ultimately gets relegated to playing cheerleader to jasmine's saccharine side, serving to initially assault you with an overwhelming sweetness that doesn't leave you with enough aromatic space to unravel jasmine's naturally complex air of mystery at your own leisure. Rather, Flying Fox unravels at its own leisure. So be patient.

Because over time, the potent bouquet of jasmine flowers will gradually round itself out on your skin and hair -- that which once struck you as sickly sweet will slowly blossom into a heady, richly exotic, soul-soothing aphrodisiac. In all seriousness, once this happens, don't let a man go near your hair unless you plan to insatiably take total advantage of his every weakness! (And speaking of hair, Flying
Fox doubles wonderfully as a shampoo. Unless your hair leads a rather abusive lifestyle, you mightn't even need conditioner.)

But given how the fragrance initially approaches you, unless you altogether dislike honey or jasmine in large doses, Flying Fox will likely prove to be a "mood shower": if you're in a sweet mood, you'll like it from start to finish. If you're not, you won't. Mood plays a large role in what notes our olfactories will decide to detect, let alone what they'll choose to embrace or reject. And while that's true of our interaction with most scents, the reality is that Flying Fox has opted to bet the balmy bank on it.

Honey Bee:-

With grey Rhassoul mud swirled through this bright yellow bath bomb, you get the general idea of a buzzy bee, owed to this bath bomb's being created to match the honey toffee scent of Honey I Washed The Kids Soap, Ma Bar Bubble Bar, and Soft Coeur Massage Bar.

However, if you sniff all of these products side by side, you'll find that Honey Bee is buzzing a bit off key: she possesses an ever-so-slightly more acidic honey scent that's simply not quite as toffee-licious as that of her fellow hivers. And yes, the bathwater does turn urine yellow, but as an exercise in mind-over-matter, remember that if you flip the "p" in "pee" upside right, you've got "bee" all over again.

Indeedy, yellow water can contextually make sense in this case, so I'm going to give Honey Bee the benefit of the doubt (despite my ongoing, deep-seated belief that both brown & yellow baths should be illegalized for obvious excretory reasons.) And no, the grey Rhassoul mud does not dissolve, but rather sits at the bottom of the tub, sometimes in the form of small sadist rocks that are just waiting for your arse to glide over them. Do so and this bee will sting you.

Truth be told, though, Honey Bee is, without question, one of Lush's most mega-moisturizing, tonifying bath bombs ever. But all things considered, while this bee might be a worker, she's simply no queen.

Ma Bar:-

This Bubble Bar was originally supposed to be a limited edition 2004 Mother's Day bath, but by popular demand, Lush decided not to
cut it's delicious life short. And good on 'em: many of Lush's Bubble Bars look like little tea cakes, but this one literally takes the cake:a half vanilla, half chocolate slice with a brown sugar cube on top, it looks good enough to eat. It also smells good enough to eat: sharing the honey toffee scent of Honey I Washed the Kids Soap & Soft Coeur Massage Bar, it makes for an ultra-sexy cal-free dessert. (Though interestingly enough, "honey" isn't even listed as an ingredient. Go figure!) Bubbles galore leave your skin feeling addictively strokeable (and if you're anything like me, you can't stop rubbing these bubbles all over your body, often looking like you're striking
semi-erotic poses for some cheesy centrefold shoot), and the scent will last for hours, leaving you desirously edible until dawn. (And they say the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. Bah!)

The only problem with Ma Bar is the muddy water. Granted, the bubbles cover the brown water for most of your time in the tub, but you are hereby warned that the sensual sweetness of Ma Bar's scent (which wafts enticingly through the entire house) may indeed enrapture the nose of your significant other.

Should they walk into the bathroom to find you strikin' those Playboy poses in poo water, the whole "mmm...sexy" vibe is guaranteed to be lost. (Though you can always salvage the moment by giving them a Soft Coeur massage, of course.)

What Lush say:-

"Calming honey products to bring sweetness and joy to your bathroom.
You've probably guessed that we like using honey, although you may not know why. It is fantastic for calming the skin, which is why it has been used in cosmetics for thousands of years. We put it in shower gel, a Ballistic, soap and a Bubble Bar Slice then we put them all in a box and wrap it up nicely for you. Give it to people who like to be sweet and natural, just like honey"

Honey Farm will cost a very reasonable £14.63 which I think is a fantastic price for such a great gift! Honey Farm is readily available online and in store and I reckon every woman would love this!

Summary: A great gift for any woman!
