Advantages: Gorgeous smell, leaves hands super soft
Disadvantages: Can be a bit pricey!
Although I shop regularly at Lush, I'd never actually tried their soaps up until recently. I tend to get dry skin a fair amount of the time, and blocks of soap just seem to dry it out more. But, after popping in to stock up some other treats, I was given a sample sized chunk of 'Honey, I Washed the Kids'. I'm pretty sure this is one of their most popular soaps, and I can now see why.
It has a sweet scent, with mixes of honey and toffee, it smells delicious and a lot more 'natural' than many other soaps would smell. It also includes sweet orange oil, which is very subtle when mixed with the honey/toffee smell, but has a nice uplifting hint to it. The top of the soap itself has a layer of beeswax in a honeycomb shape, naturally it's meant to, after mixing with the essential oils also included, react with the water and remove excess dirt.
After popping my sample chunk by the bathroom sink, I could immediately notice that after it being used the lovely smell was lingering in the bathroom, which meant a nice waft of honey and toffee every time you went in there. It left my hands feeling softer than any soap ever has(!), plus you get the sweet smell stay on your skin for a while afterwards. My boyfriend has always suffered from eczema, ever since he was a baby, and he said that after using this on his hands it had a nice calming effect on it, and also left them super soft., which is a great plus!
Another great thing about this soap is the lack of packaging. It usually come wrapped in a piece of lush paper with a stick on, compared to the chunky bottles that liquid soap come in it's a big improvement. As well as being more environmentally friendly - it's also easier to use up the last bit. I always find that at the bottom of the liquid soap bottles the pump never quite reaches to the bottom and I have to force the lid off or spend a few minutes shaking the bottle around trying to get the last bit up the tube. This definitely isn't a problem with 'Honey, I Washed the Kids' and you can just pick up the last chunk and get washing!
At £2.95 for 100g, it's a reasonable Lush price, but a little expensive to use as you're normal soap. But, after using it I would highly recommend trying it, it does wonders for your skin and makes the bathroom smell gorgeous!
Summary: 9/10
