Advantages: Smells gorgeous, Relaxing

Disadvantages: £2.10 is a luxury

I haven?t had a bath for nearly 4 months. I do not smell either?it?s just that we have been having an extension built and I have been making do with a shower every day what seems like a lifetime, especially since I found out I was pregnant. I knew I would have my new bath last weekend, so hot footed it down to my local Lush store to stock up on my bathroom goodies.

I decided not to use it that night as it was so hot I ironically plumped for a shower, however when the weather took a turn for the worst, I decided to lock myself away with my Hot Java bath bomb and forget about the lashing wind and rain outside, as the girl in the shop told me that this was the bath bomb to use when I wanting warming up, or my aching muscles soothing, both I which I would never say no to!!!

Bright orange in colour, visually it warmed me up, and then when I unwrapped it from the packaging, I was hit by the potent smell of cinnamon, which I have always found to be a comforting smell. If I thought that was pleasant, it was nothing to the aroma which wafted around the room once I added the bath bomb to the freshly run bath. The water turned a russet colour, and within seconds my husband was in the bathroom asking what I had sprayed as it smelled so welcoming. The only thing which I did not like was that there were a couple of small pieces of the cinnamon sticks floating about in the bath, and I get a little cockly with ?bits?, so had to fish them out before I could enjoy my bath.

I would never bore you by listing every single ingredient on here, but the main ones are Cinnamon sticks and powder, ginger oil and Ylang Ylang oil. Obviously there is the regular sodium bicarbonate, but then it wouldn?t be a fizzy bath bomb without it. The oils were certainly moisturizing, and I could feel the residue on my skin, which when I
rubbed it in felt like it was making a difference to the dry patches I have on my elbows. Normally, my daughter steers clear from the stronger fragranced bath bombs as they can irritate her excema, but she too was lured by the smell, and soon became my bathing companion, and I have to say her skin did not suffer at all, in fact, she had an itch free night, which is a rarity for her.

The bath bombs all tend to be the same size, weighing in at around 200g, and they cost £2.10. That is a lot for just one bath, but then I don?t use one every night, but it is well worth a treat when you need a bit of a boost. I am sure it would have warmed me up and relaxed me had it not been for the interruptions, and extra body in the bath, so I have already bought another to treat myself when there is no danger of people stealing my thunder!!

Sounds great but be careful. I am a qualified aromatherapist and we are taught that essential oils like cinnamon and ylang ylang should not be used during pregnancy. I don't want to be a kill joy but please take some advice on this.
