Your as cold as ice, or as hot as lava (well, not quite!!) (Lush Ice Blue Soap)

Advantages: Great product, lovely smell, great for cleaning yourself with.

Disadvantages: Can be a little too tingly, price is a little expensive.

Ice Blue soap is made by Lush who produce hand made products using natural ingredients. This particular soap seems to mainly be aimed at the males and is normally included in most of the Lush male gift sets.

The price is £2.45 per 100g (as of April 2009) and this is quite a reasonable price for the product that you receive.

As all Lush soaps are produced in large blocks and then cut down to smaller sizes in store you may find that you will get just under or just over 100g and the price will be adjusted accordingly. Also, because of being cut from a block products may slightly vary in appearance and in texture due to being hand made.

All soaps from Lush are just wrapped in a single piece of paper with a sticky label (the paper can be recycled) advising you of the product, how much it cost, what it weighed and how to use it as well as showing you the ingredients included. This is great as it means no unnecessary packaging which is better for your bin & your environment!

The soap my other half got (which I've subsequently claimed for my use also!) is blue in colour (as per the picture above) and is almost transparent in appearance. It has a light dusting of what I believe to be sea salt and this has mostly disappeared after just one use.

The product lathers up incredibly fast and effectively and the smell is very minty (peppermint oil) and I understand that this has the ability to make you feel hot when you are cold and cold when you are hot so this makes for quite an interesting experience when in the bath! The bubbles are lovely and leave my skin feeling very smooth indeed. This soaps clean incredibly well and leaves a nice smell for a good hour or so behind me in the bathroom.

Sea salt is good for exfoliating your skin but I would definitely like this product to have more of it and be more of a scrub type bar rather than just a cleansing bar (but then you can't always get what you want!).

Because this has quite a minty smell it is definitely suitable for men & women and my other half has used this in the past from Lush and was looking for it as soon as we visited again back in February this year.

When you have finished with the soap try to store it somewhere relatively dry as like most Lush soaps it will just disappear if you drop it in the bath or leave in a patch of water for a little while.

Overall I have nothing bad to say about this soap, it cleaned my body and my face even though I have sensitive skin and did not cause a breakout of any kind.

I would highly recommend it for male or female use but I would say that because it's quite tingly you may want to avoid cleaning intimate areas with it (unless that's your kind of thing!).

I will rate the product 4/5 as it is a great product but is a little expensive for just cleansing your body (when compared to 100g of other soaps).

Summary: I would highly recommend this product for cleaning yourself, it's fab!
