A while back after seeing how fabulously glittery a friend of mine looked, and enquiring as to what it was she had on, I made my first Lush purchase. Torn between the two glitter massage bar options I bought both, this is, obviously, a review of the Glitterbug option (the other one available is Shimmy Shimmy). Glitterbug is shaped like a bug, it reminds me a little of a lady bird shape. It's a cream colour with flecks of iridescent blue glitter in it. The glitter in the Glitterbug is thicker than the fine glitter in the Shimmy Shimmy bar. Whilst Shimmy Shimmy gives you a subtle shimmer, Glitterbug gives you full on sparkling glitter. To apply you ... Read the complete review

My Mummy always told me to make the most of my assets and seeing as I had my first date in 15 years, I thought it was a good time to act on that piece of homespun philosophy. One of the few plus points of being a more “ample” woman is that I have quite an impressive chest. It can be a bit of a handful (well, more than a handful actually), but on those occasions when you want to make an impression, it’s a showstopper. A push-up bra and a low-cut top do wonders for the confidence, but I wanted to really sparkle. So, I borrowed my daughter’s new Lush Shimmy Shimmy massage bar and liberally applied it to my upper chest and the ... Read the complete review

Please note that this opinion is for the Lush Shimmy Shimmy Massage Bar and not the Glitterbug - the two products are very similar and as there is no way to get a new product added at the moment I have submitted it here. With the festive season rapidly approaching I have been testing out some of the glittery products available from Lush - most of their glittery products are Bath Ballistics, (bath bombs), but for Christmas they have brought out two limited edition glittery massage bars, namely, the glitterbug and Shimmy Shimmy. Being 34, and not quite the spring chicken I once was, I decided that the Glitter Bug was a bit too young for me as it is full ... Read the complete review

There are actually three massage bars in Lush?s Glitterbug range, but they only see fit to offer the Iridescent Glitterbug all year around. There is silver and a gold one as well, which you can only purchase at Christmas and the silver one as part of a gift set (Spellbound). Appearance The massage bars are bug-shaped, or in other words, half an egg shape. They are made of cocoa butter and contain a hint of sparkle and I do mean a HINT of sparkle. The Iridescent Glitterbug uses blue, iridescent sparkle, and the others have silver and gold sparkle. The Iridescent sparkle is the more subtle of the too, giving the skin a nice sheen. The others are a bit ... Read the complete review

I love Lush products, so the only problem I had when visiting a Lush shop in Bath recently was limiting how much I spent! After buying the shampoo bar I wanted (reviewed in a previous opinion), I chose one of the Iridescent Glitterbugs. I love a bit of glitter, so couldn’t resist. There are three different types of Glitterbug available, but as they are usually sold around the Christmas / New Year season, you can only order one from the website at the moment, but there were two types on sale in the shop. I bought the cream coloured one with purple glitter. They cost £2.75 each for a 30g bar, but they last a long while as you only use a bit at a ... Read the complete review
