Advantages: It fizzes well

Disadvantages: The smell

I gradually starting to like bath ballistics, the key word is gradually! I still find them a waste of money however as Lush seem to make so many which look irresistable it's hard not to buy one or a few even!

Lush go through phases for some their products where they pick a theme and create products creating a soap version! Whether its flowers, people or even fruit! However it doesn't always work but each to their own and that it just my opinion!!

Lush Kiss Me Klimt was created in their artist phase!! They created this, Monets Garden bath ballistic and Bon Bon Bonnard bath ballistic. Kiss Me Klimt is named after Gustav Klimt was a master when it came to combining eye-catching colour with richly jeweled gold to capture the decadent wealth of human sensuality. With famous pieces such as Judith and the Head of Holofernes and The Friends.

So why Lush decided to dedicate a plain white Ballistic (albeit with a smattering of fast disappearing gold powder and a Japanese rice paper flower which is often quick to break apart and too small to add any amount of much needed visual drama) to this artist is beyond me. (Ever see a foundation of white in a Klimt painting?) To look at it is incredibly boring, nothing spectacular unlike Klimt's interesting pieces. I bought it online, I studied Klimt at college so I was instantly attracted to this ballistic!

Beyond appearances, Kiss Me Klimt's combination of rose and ylang ylang is initially overpowered by a musky, woodsy perfume that often evokes the earthiness of masculinity more than it does the ethereality of femininity. Of course, this wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing, especially since aromatic masculine/feminine power struggles generally make wonderful baths for sharing with the opposite sex, and Kiss Me Klimt's ultra-feminine florals do eventually win out on the skin, later working as subtle tools for seduction. But until "eventually" comes, this domineering perfume exhales an intensely artificial, trying-too-hard to-impress, chokingly thick-as-syrup air.

Yet Lush on their website describe this ballistic as fragrant rose gardens where lovers roam! They try to re-create a vision of a beautiful wedding in Indonesia where flower petals are scattered throughout and the floral fragrance blossoms. I actually think they may have been writing about a completely different ballistic!

All things considered, if you approach this bath with Klimt's erotically abstract "The Kiss" in mind, you'll likely be disappointed; though Kiss Me Klimt owns no single horrid trait, I can't pin point why it didn't turn out right! On the plus as soon as it hit the water it fizzed chaotically! There were not salt grains lying at the bottom of the bath as half expected, each little grain was completely absorbed by the warm water and another plus is that it didn't turn the water a strange colour as some other products!!

Ingredients:-

Sodium Bicarbonate, Citric Acid, Ylang Ylang Oil (Cananga odorata), Rose Absolute (Rosa damascena), *Benzyl Salicylate, *Geraniol, *Benzyl Benzoate, *Citronellol, *Farnesol, *Limonene, *Linalool, Perfume, Golden Lustre Sparkle
* Occurs naturally in Essential Oils

The reviews on Lush's website are both negative and positive about this ballistic, whether mine was a dud and really it is a lovely ballistic remains unknown as it's doubtful I will ever try it again! It is discontinued (as is every other ballistic in the artists collection) and is only available online for £2.94 which I think is incredibly excessive for something so plain.

My overall feeling is that this is the plainer of the three artists which is disappointing and really it has alot of negatives so I can't really recommend it but probably worth a try just incase!

Summary: No klimt for me today
