Advantages: Fresh and revitalising

Disadvantages: Price

Now most of my reviews regarding Lush bath ballistics are pretty rubbish and they only get 1 star if I'm in a good mood they may get two! But this review certainly won't! This is probably my second favourite ballistic, coming second to World Peace! It is so fresh and revitalising that after a long day at work it's something which will give you a much needed pick me up just before bed!

Lemon Days & Ginger Beer really does smell quite a bit like a combination of fizzy lemonade (kinda like the cloudy lemonade not the clear stuff!) and ginger beer. That's because it contains sparkling lemon peel and stimulating ginger oil, both wonderfully uplifting ingredients for both body and mind in a bath that leaves skin exceptionally toned and silky smooth. But on top of this are very distinct remnants of Lush's Ginger Fragrance.

In addition to warming ginger oil, both also share calmingly woodsy sweet mimosa and healing, anti-depressant geranium. But with Lemon Days & Ginger Beer's replacement of other denser, more traditional florals such as rose and jasmine with zesty citrus notes of refreshing lemon, tangy imperial red mandarin, and youthfully vibrant, libido raising, confidence inspiring bergamot, topped with a hint of exotic Indian sandalwood, this bath is sure to delight not only Ginger lovers, but also those who tend to find it far too overpowering and "old" for their tastes. (A!nd yes I was one of those who thought ginger was an old thing!)

Now you might expect this ballistic to be yellow but how wrong you would be! So far I have had around 4 of these and all have been different shades of orange! And no I don't take photos of each and every lush product (I am not that obsessed yet!) that I own and use but they seem to range from the shade of a pink grapefruit with red undertones to a pale peach! I don't think this makes a scrap of difference to the outcome of the ballistic but what you expect
you may not get!!

**A little about the essential oils**

Ginger Oil:-
It is used alot in aromatherapy for combating depression however Ginger is also extensively brought to use for its moisture retention characteristics. It helps a great deal in toning the body.

Mimosa Absolute:-
It is used in skin care for oily, sensitive skin and general skincare. It also has antiseptic, calming and relaxing properties.

Mandarin Oil:-
This is where the lemony smell comes from! It makes a wonderful slimming massage for buttocks, hips and thighs, and will also reduce stretch marks.Any bath product with this oil will give a deeply relaxing and uplifting soak.

Sandalwood Oil:-
It has many properties including antiseptic, balsamic, sedative, calming and an aid to stress relief.

Geranium Oil:-
In aromatherapy it is one of the most important oils -perfect to put you in a good mood, put you to sleep, give you energy or relax you totally. It is good for cuts, bruises, eczema, burns, acne, broken veins and mature or dry skin.

Bergamot Oil:-
Bergamot essential oil is uplifting, refreshing and antiseptic. It has a fresh, subtle, spicy lemon smell with warm, balsamic undertone. In aromatherapy, Bergamot essential oil is used to treat depression, melancholy, tiredness, irritability, stress, acne and greasy skins. It is a good deodorant and will help kill germs in the home.

In what turns out to be ultra bright spring green waters, Lemon Days & Ginger Beer becomes Ginger's spry little sister, the free spirit who innocently but wildly runs through dewy tropical citrus groves barefoot in breezy skirts, flirting with the boy next door without even realising it, his determination to keep chase driven by his unavoidably having fallen head over heels with her joie de vivre from the second he first laid eyes on her. I do have a vivid imagination and I have just finished reading Tess of the Durbevilles and my mind as just got carried away with young fresh love! And yes I know the booked didn't end that way!

My pet hate with ballistics is when they don't actually fully disolve so you are left with a grit type substance at the bottom of the bath! Which is not particuarly comfortable to sit on! But this ballistic is different as soon as it gets even the most gentle of touch of the hot water it immediately starts to fizz uncontrollably! You will find by the time you have taken your clothes off and turned around to get in the bath it's completely gone and there is a lovely layer of white soft bubbles floating around on the top!

The refreshing smell of all the oils (which compliment eachother perfectly) will have filled the whole house and everyone who enters will be instantly relaxed. Even better news is that the scent of lemonade and ginger ale (yes a strange mix but works so wonderfully well) stays on your skin for hours and by the time you go to bed (if you've had an evening bath) you feel so calm and as you inhale this perfect scent you can peacefully fall off into a deep sleep! No doubt this ballistic would be perfect for a morning bath, especially on a weekend, where you are not pushed for time so you can relax in a bath and you can be instantly relaxed yet freshened and ready for the day ahead!

Ingredients:-

Sodium Bicarbonate, Citric Acid, Lemon Peel (Citrus limonum), Powdered Ginger (Zingiber officinalis), Perfume, Ginger Oil (Zingiber officinalis),
Mimosa Absolute (Mimosa tenuiflora), Mandarin Oil (Citrus nobilis), Sandalwood Oil (Santalum album), Geranium Oil (Pelargonium graveolens),
Bergamot Oil (Citrus Aurantium bergamia), Gardenia Extract (Gardenia jasminoides), *Citral, *Limonene, *Linalool, Coumarin, Hydroxycitronellal,
Colour 45350
* Occurs naturally in Essential Oils

Now this is the downside. It is retro so you can only get it online (www.lush.co.uk) but who knows how long it will last! And the price is £3.67, which yes is expensive and sometimes I have a hard time parting with my cash however because I know it is as great as they say it is I don't mind having a rewarding bath!

Get it before it's gone!!

Summary: All of the above!!
