Lush Love Potion Massage Bar
Advantages: Leaves skin feeling soft, non greasy
Lush is one of my favourite shops in the world. I go there for all of my bath and body needs. I also really look forward to when they launch their special edition ranges for special occassions such as Christmas, Valentine's Day and Easter. They always release nice, new bits and pieces which aren't around for long and tie in with the occassion.
The Love Potion massage bar was one of the limited edition items in this year's Valentine's range. The first thing that drew my attention to the massage bar was the shape. Usually with Lush, their massage bars tend to be oval and square shaped but this one was shaped like a little bottle and I just thought it was a great shape. I liked that the shape of the bar tied in with the name of the product. It is cream in colour with a little pink heart in the centre. The massage bar is a little bit smaller than all the other massage bars which I found a little bit cheeky seeing as Lush still wanted the usual £5.95 for it.
The massage bar is scented with a beautiful apple scent. To make this scent, Lush use the following ingredients: apple blossom, orris root, lemongrass, jasmine, carnation, bergamot and rose. For Lush fans, the scent is the same as Lush's Fizzbanger ballistic and the Gorilla Love perfume.
I found the massage bar to be very soothing and it left my skin feeling very soft and smooth. This particular massage bar did not leave me feeling greasy and I recently found out that it was because Lush used corn-flour in the ingredients which acts as an absorping agent. It really made a difference to me as I always rub a towel over myself after using one of the massage bars and I feel that by doing so I am rubbing away the essential oils. The scent from the massage bar does linger nicely and I can always smell it on my bed sheets the next day as I usually use massage bars just before bed.
I don't find the massage bar to do anything spectacular; for instance, Wiccy Magic Muscles relaxes me completely and really soothes my muscles but this one I feel is just one to make your skin nice and soft. I do prefer having my husband help me use the massage bar as it is easier and alot nicer than trying to do it yourself!
Definately a lovely product but it is now discontinued so your best place to get hold of one would be eBay or the Lush Forum. The biggest let down with this massage bar is the price.
