Advantages: Smells delightful, great for the skin, is relaxing and comforting

Disadvantages: It is expensive

It has been a long time since I bought some Lush products, well to me it seems like a long time and I think my bank Manager has had an easy ride of late managing my finances, so it was time to go back to Lush and treat myself after a truly extensive few months of hard work, long hours, stress and no freedom.

As with my previous review, Lush for me is even more excitingly due to the fact you can now buy products which have been discontinued online, I can now revert back to buying some of my favourite products and re-live the pleasant experiences all over again. Please note that any items which have been discontinued can only be bought online through the Lush website, so for all you Lush addicts like me out there, get online and have a look for your old trusty favourites.

One of my all time favourite Lush products are the Bath Ballistics. Being able to spend an hour or so in a nice hot bath, relaxing with amazing smelling aromas, a good book and a nice glass of chilled wine is for me perfection and one of the best ways to wind down after a hard day at work or a long stressful week, something I love being able to do.

For those people wondering what is a Bath Ballistic is - a Bath Ballistic is a rounded tennis ball shaped bath bomb, of which bicarbonate of Soda is one of the main ingredients. It is this bicarbonate of soda which gives Bath Ballistics (the Lush description for Bomb) the 'fizzing effect' sending it whizzing around your bath. Bath Ballistics are also are packed full of essential oils, which give off wonderful aromas to help you to relax, unwind and turn your bath water a pretty shade of some colour.

This time I settled for a Bath Ballistic called 'Luverly' which is a nice shade of pink and is almost shaped like a flower and upon the top of it you will find some petals. This Bath Ballistic retails at £3 for 130g so it is more expensive than the Ballistics I am used to buying, but it smells wonderful and isn't as hard to touch as the other ballistics meaning that I can break it in half without any fuss and have double the fun for my money.

Now for the easy part. When you come to use your Bath Ballistic, Lush always it suggest that you place your Bath Ballistic into a bath a of warm running water, but as I like to have red hot baths with lots of bubbles and steams, I up the temperature slightly. Once you have an inch or two of water in your bath, you simply place the Bath Ballistic into the water and watch it fizz away on its own. As the Ballistic is whizzing and spinning about your bath, slowly turning your water into an amazing pinky colour, you will also notice the smell as the oils are released into the water. Once the Ballistic has fizzed away into the water I was ready to get into my very pink coloured bubble filled bath to relax.

So what contributes to such a wonderful smell? For starters the main ingredient is Ylang Ylang Oil which is a sweet flowery smell which brings about a calming effect on both the mind and body whilst on the skin it also helps to soothe dry skin and over oily skin by balancing the amount of sebum the body creates which leads to both of these skin problems. Also with your scalp it promotes the same effect as on the skin and encourages hair growth. Also as an added benefit to me personally I suffer with high blood pressure and this oil itself is used to help reduce it. The second most important ingredient is Jasmine absolute which is another floral scented ingredient which works well with the Ylang Ylang Oil and the inclusion of jasmine absolute is due to its versatility. For a start jasmine absolute promotes calm and warmness whilst at the same time helps clear the mind and helps you to relax.

As always with Lush there is a whole list of further ingredients, which can be found on the Lush Website. Within most Lush products you will find a lot of essential oils, which are specially picked for each product and I would suggest that you visit the Lush website to read the entire list of ingredients, especially those of you who are pregnant, suffer from epilepsy or have sensitive skin.

After my lovely soak in the bath, my skin was left feeling really moisturised to the point where it was soft and smooth to the touch. Again, I also have extremely sensitive skin and often find that I am limited in which products I can use. In my person I did feel very relaxed and soothed. Doing the job that I do can be very stressful and the word multi-taking is a given, so to keep myself calm and my blood pressure low, it is little treats like this that I look forward to.

Once I had emptied out my bath water I was pleased not to find anything left lurking behind clinging to the bath tub, which with some similar products has been the case.

So would I recommend this product? I absolutely would without a shadow of a doubt. For those people who enjoy baths as much as I do to relax I don't think there is an alternative, having now used a Lush Ballistic and a Lush Bubble Bar Slice I don't think using normal bath creams would be as inviting. As soon as it is available on the UK Lush website I am ordering more.

Also as someone with super sensitive skin I would also suggest their products, but I would advise you to go onto their website and check the ingredients used, they are listed under each product so it is easy to find out.
