Advantages: smells nice, leaves skin lovely and soft

Disadvantages: expensive, scent not very strong when in the water

I haven't had a Lush bath for ages - very unlike me! I'm cutting down on the amount of beauty products I buy, as I have loads waiting to be used, and this is one I bought ages ago, but never quite got round to trying.

The Melting Marshmallow Moment is a bath melt, which as the name suggests is a bath product which melts into the water. I have only used one of the Lush melts before - You've been mangoed- and I must admit, I was not too impressed with it. Whilst I thought it was OK, it wasn't my favourite ever Lush product, and although I still bought this one, I think it was my initial experience that put me off using it for so long.

The product is pink and round with the top being quite uneven in shape as you can see from the picture. Unlike the 'You've been mangoed' melt which had a quite waxy feel, this one has a more powdery feel to it, similar to a bubble bar or ballistic.

The scent of the product is absolutely gorgeous. It's a sweet, creamy scent probably from the fact that this contains marshmallow powder, almond oil and marigold powder. It's smells a bit like those strawberries and cream sweets you used to get, and if you're familiar with Lush products, then I'd say it's similar to creamy candy, two timing tart and snow fairy in scent.

To use this, you simply need to drop it into a hot bath. I found it took quite a while to melt, but as it did so, it left the water with a silky feeling to it as all the oils dissolved into the water. At first there was a tiny amount of bubbles, but these soon disappeared, leaving the water with a sort of cloudy appearance.

I was quite disappointed that I could barely smell the melt once it was in the water. The fragrance of this was one of the main selling points for me, and usually Lush products have really strong aromas, so I felt a bit let down with this one.

Afterwards my skin did feel very soft and smooth, but there was no scent left on my skin at all.

This product costs £3.19 which is quite a lot for one bath. Also, for valentines day, a special heart shaped version has come out, called 'SWALK' which comes boxed and costs £3.50, so may make a nice little valentines gift.

Overall, I thought this was OK, but not one of Lush's best. The scent is lovely, but seemed to disappear as soon as it hit the water, however it did leave my skin feeling lovely and soft, and it was very relaxing lying in the silky water. I don't think I'd buy this again for myself, but if someone gave me one as a gift I wouldn't be totally disappointed. Hint hint!

Summary: Mmmm......

The almond oil would put me off.

It certainly 'sounds' nice, shame it didn't perform!

£3.19 is a lot for one bath - especially if the smell doesn't linger!
