Advantages: Exfoliating softening natural soap

Disadvantages: Can be a bit scratchy the first few times of use

If youve read my other reviews you will know by now that I am a total Lush addict. I love reviewing their prods and spreading the love...and Porridge is something to shout about.

This lovely yummy delight was released last year, as an exfoliating softening hand and body soap, and has been a best seller since its launch.

The initial scent of Porridge is a really alluring one; this is a combination of the sweet smelling labdanum and the orange juice and oil. Not too heady but relatively strong, and long lasting on the skin.

Made with real porridge oats to exfoliate, orange juice to refresh and remove oil, labdanum to soothe and calm redness and sweet orange oil to tone, this soap does a whole lot more than just clean your grubby mitts...When rubbed onto cellulite, the massaging action of the oat nibs can really make a difference to the dimpled appearance of it. If you use it pre shave, it will soften and exfoliate, making it much less likely to cut yourself!! The labdanum will help soothe the skin, so this soap is suitable for sensitive skin.

The only downside to this soap is that the first few uses can be a bit too harsh on your hands; the oat nibs are quite hard and can be a tad scratchy!! But once you have used the soap a few times, they seem to soften up.

This is a really good value for money, effective, natural product. Lush are famed for their wondrous natural ingredients and green ethic, and this product definitely upholds this. They have stopped using a palm oil base in all of their soaps in favour of a rapeseed, coconut and sunflower oil soap base. This is obviously a huge plus for the rainforest and its' inhabitants; something which many high street brands do not care for. This has made a difference to my soap shopping habits, and I won't buy soaps from other brands now, as I know I can rest assured I am using the greenest option.

Summary: Great value for money, beautiful smelling, nice and scrubby!
