Advantages: Smells amazing, good price, works well

Disadvantages: None pour moi

Like many Dooyoo users, I used to be a total Lush addict. For some reason, however, I hadn't bought anything from them for a few months until a few weeks ago, when I found myself irresistibly drawn to venturing into its sweet smelling domain once again. What tempted me in was the Fresher's Box offer, which gave you eight Lush items for only £10. Of course, you couldn't just pick whatever eight items you wanted, but the choice was still pretty good: one facemask, one shampoo bar, two toner tabs, a moisturiser sample, a body scrub and two 50g pieces of soap. The overall savings wasn't immense when you consider that you only get small bars of soap, and the fact that toner tabs only cost 75p each anyway, but I thought that this would be a good opportunity to sample some products that I'd fancied for a while for a lower price. You may have guessed by now that one of the items I selected was a piece of Porridge.

Porridge is a soap that is unsurprisingly meant to smell like sweet delicious porridge, and I'd always been enticed when smelling its syrupy scent in the shop. My friend used this soap for a while last year, and whenever I was in her bathroom I loved using it to wash my hands as it left them smelling nice and sweet. I was therefore fairly enthusiastic about trying it as my shower soap, but for some reason hadn't tried it 'til I got the Fresher's Box.

Upon trying it on my body in the shower, I wasn't disappointed. The soap still had the strongly sweet scent that I had savoured on stays at my friend's, and definitely helped to wake me up in the morning. I found the inclusion of oat in the bar to be a nice touch, and enjoyed the gentle exfoliation they offered. I was worried that these would end up making a mess of the shower or clogging up the drain, but fortunately I've had no problems with them at all.

In conclusion, Porridge is an excellent soap, which smells amazing and works well. Despite the fact that its brown colour doesn't make it look particularly attractive, I love everything about it and would definitely buy it again in the future. If you're a fan of Honey I Washed the Kids or Rockstar, then you will probably like Porridge too, as they have similar sweetness levels, but it you prefer the more subt.le varieties then you may find this a bit overpowering. I would recommend smelling it in the shop before you buy it just to make sure it's for you, but if that's not an option, I would only suggest buying it if you are a fan of all things sweet. Porridge is available from Lush shops (of which there are many across the UK), or online from Lush.co.uk. This soap is sold by weight, but you must buy a minimum of 100g, which will set you back £2.56

Summary: An amazingly sweet soap
