Advantages: I can't think of any!

Disadvantages: Moisture doesn't last all day

I use body lotion every single day and twice a day at that so it means that I run out of it fairly quickly, as someone with dry skin it's important to me to keep my skin moisturised at all times. Now I had decided to move away from my usual lotion which is the retro Lush Potion which is wonderfully moisturising, however I just fancied a change and bought a bottle of Skin Sin

I love anything cherry-scented (and cherry-flavored), so I think that was what initially attracted me to Lush Skin Sin. If I could walk around smelling like sweet cherries, I would. So I couldn't wait to get something from Lush that was cherry-scented and finally it sounded like a product which wasn't full of vanilla!

The packaging for this product is pretty plain, just like most LUSH products. I like a clear bottle, because that lets me know how much product I have left. However Skin Sin is white in colour which isn't particuarly special to look at!

Skin Sin is a light body lotion with what is supposed to be a scrumptiously fruity blackcurrant and cherry fragrance. This to me sounded great, I love cherries and having something fruity to put on my skin would be great. But alas... while you eventually do get quite a potent whiff of berries, you first get an out-of-place, pungent whiff of herbal tincture, thanks, I believe, to a rudely intrusive combination of tagette's oil (which is actually another name for marigold), chamomile and something else in this product's mysterious "perfume" ingredient. Whatever it is specifically, it most definitely gets in the way of what's supposed to be a yummily fragrant concoction of berries.

Thankfully, however, a few hours after application, that awful whiff finally decides to apologetically offer you a bunch of cherries. Yet even for me, that's too little atonement too late in the game, I'm afraid. I was hoping for a lasting cherry scent, but it doesn't even come close. This is a super-light scent that shouldn't interfere with any fragrance products you are wearing.

And speaking of application I find Skin Sin to be a little too watery, with a little not going much of a distance. It certainly gives you a nice, non-tacky finish (you don't get that layer of grease coating your skin), but unless you apply a ton of it, you really don't notice much of a difference where the care of your skin is concerned, I'm afraid. (And those like me with dry skin should most definitely consider Dream Cream, Potion or even Sympathy For The Skin Body Lotions ahead of Skin Sin). All things considered and simply put, I'm sad to say that I find Skin Sin to be the all-time weakest of Lush's body lotions (which are generally par excellent). Needless to say that I have actually gone back to Potion!

The moisture doesn't last all day, Skin Sin couldn't really keep up. Within about six hours, I needed another application. This lotion is just not heavy enough to handle winter-ravaged skin, it's probably ideal for spring or summer when the weather is warmer.

What Lush say:-

Skin Sin started life as a truly beautiful cream which made our skin feel good all over. We used almond oil to sink deep down into the skin and give longer lasting benefits (not just a nice smell and a feeling which lasts half an hour like some chemical-raddled creams do). We added nourishing cocoa butter and humectant vegetable glycerine, soothing tagettes and chamomile oils. The trouble was with this gloriously effective cream, that its effective, dependable mix of essential oils made it smell all a bit too worthy. We wanted it to behave perfectly but to smell wicked. So Mark added a twist of rich, fruity cherry, which you smell more strongly as the earnest oils settle down and do their good works. It's a bit like having Angelina Jolie join your school's fundraising committee.

Fortunately I only bought a 100g bottle for £3.25 (I never normally buy anything fulsized until I know I like it!) and because of it's runny texture it was soon used up and I reverted back to Potion! Lush Skin Sin is no longer available to buy from Lush and I don't think thats a bad thing whatsoever!

Summary: It's no longer available at Lush. Enough said!
