Advantages: Refreshing; smells lovely
Disadvantages: Goes cloudy after a while
Promise
This tangy shower gel from Lush promises a 'juicy burst of fresh lemon and lime for mornings when the last thing you want to do is get out of bed'. A 'Slammer alarm call', they say, is just the remedy for the morning after the night before.
Product details
Slammer comes in plastic bottles in three sizes, 100g (£1.95); 250g(£3.85); and 500g (£6.75). It contains Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Fresh Lime Peel Decoction, Fresh Scottish Sea Water, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Fresh Lime Juice, Honey (Mel), Lime Oil, Rock Salt, Litsea Cubeba Oil, Lemon Oil, Perfume, Colour 18050, Methylparaben, Propylparaben. If you're bewildered by this list of exotic and sometimes incomprehensible ingredients, all you need to know is that Slammer has a lovely citrusy (lemon and lime, as you would guess) scent.
Performance
Slammer is refreshing from the time you open the bottle to the end of the shower. You end up with smooth, squeaky clean skin. It promises to be an eye-opener and I've used it several times after nights of broken sleep (I've got a young daughter) so that I could make the 50-mile commute to work. As I've so far managed to avoid both speeding tickets and accidents, I can only conclude that it works.
Although it's gone a bit cloudy now (my only criticism), it still works. Using it after another broken night has made me alert enough to write this review.
And I have a confession. It smells so nice that sometimes I'll just take a sniff even if I'm not having a shower, because Lush Slammer is redolent of warm, tropical places, a bit like a beach holiday in a bottle.
Summary: A great morning-after remedy

- 26/11/08 I love the citrusy stuff! I also love the eucalyptus/spearmint aromatherapy from another famous company. Thanks for the great advice. |
