ABOUT BALLISTICS
Stardust is part of Lush's Bath Ballistic range. It has sadly been discontinued now but can probably be found on ebay or the swaps section of the Lush Forum. Bath Ballistics were invented for those people who are sensitive to the bubbles in a bath but who want to have a great bath anyway! Of course, everybody else can use them too. They contain citric acid and baking soda which means when they hit the water they fizz away and release the lovely smells and colours that are in them.

INSPIRATION
The inspiration for this ballistic came from the book (and now film) Stardust by Neil Gaiman. According to the Summer 2008 Lush Times, they wanted to create a ballistic that smelled like the shooting star from the book, "her skin, the delicate flowers, the magic surrounding her and the way she shimmers when she's happy".

INGREDIENTS
I am going to list the ingredients to show all the lovely things this Ballistic contains:
Sodium Bicarbonate, Citric Acid, Violet Leaf Absolute (Viola odorata), Everlasting Flower Absolute (Helichrysum stoechas), Bergamot Oil (Citrus Aurantium bergamia), Benzyl Salicylate, *Benzyl Benzoate, *Linalool, Perfume, Colour 18050, Sugar Stars, Red Stars (Polyethylene terephthalate)

The Sodium Bicarbonate and Citric Acid have already been mentioned. These are what gives the ballistic it's lovely fizz.

The Violet is used just for its fragrance. It adds a nice grassy smell to the mixture. Everlasting Flower Absolute adds a rich rose smell and the Bergamot has a floral and slightly fruity smell. Bergamot has anti-depressant qualities and is very relaxing which is another good quality of this ballistic. Although they sound like chemicals, Benzyl Salicylate and Benzyl Benzoate actually occur naturally in essential oils such as Ylang Ylang and Rosewood. These are just used to mix the fragrances together. Linalool is another substance which is found in essential oils. This is listed as some people have reactions to this substance.

Perfume is what gives Lush products their individual scents (they cant give all the ingredients away!). Lush say that their perfume is always either a blend of natural essential oils or safe synthetic fragrance materials as well as essential oils. We know from the lush times that this perfume contains Cardamon and Rose to create a feeling of happiness, Vanilla and Benzoin for a feeling of calm, as well as Jasmine and Tonka Absolute.

The rest of the ingredients are to make the ballistic look fabulous! Theres the lovely pink colouring, the sugar star on top (either white, blue or yellow) and a sprinkling of red stars to make it look lovely.

REVIEW
This was one of my favourite Ballistics. It smelled floral but not too much as I don't really like floral smells. There was also a hint of sweetness in there.

When I dropped it in the bath it smelled just as amazing. It is one of the strongest smelling Ballistics I have tried in a while. The water went a lovely girly pink colour and the stars added to the girliness of the bath.

I had a very long soak in this bath and could still smell it on my skin, and especially on my hair, hours later.

I am very sad that they discontinued this lovely product and have got three stashed away for emergencies! It is a wonderful bath for relaxing in before bedtime.
