Since the creation of Lush, no gift-giving occasion seems to pass without receiving some kind of Lush product. This Christmas I received a box of goodies including the Lush Strawberry Santa Shower Jelly. The giver of this gift was very keen for me to get this out immediately and show off how cute the little red man was. Despite being poked and pulled, he stayed in shape, although he left some red residue on the surface he had been placed on.

I was quite excited to try him out. It seemed all i had to do was pull some of little Santa off, and crush/rub it on my body in the shower. The product is very slippery, so actually being able to hold onto it and try to crush it as pretty difficult. I was disappointed at how hard it was to crush - most of it just broke into smaller pieces and washed down to the plug hole. This made it hard to get a proper lather. With some experimenting I found that it works a lot better if you crush it on to something soft such as a sponge or flannel, creating a good lather, and quite a lot of it!

Overall, I wouldn't rate this product highly as a shower gel substitute. It had a strong strawberry smell (which I personally found to be a bit sickly) and was cute as a novelty product, however was difficult to use and the shower required a lot of washing down afterwards due to all the little pieces.

Summary: Fun but not so practical
