Advantages: Two great skin detoxing items
Disadvantages: Gift not available in the UK however the items are
There are advantages of having someone you know live abroad, and in my case my partner's (aka Mr Sweetpea!) sister lives in Munich, Germany. Of course it has its bad points as we don't get to see her that often however she is just a big a fan of Lush as I am, so when Lush Germany have items which I can't get over in the UK she will send them over to me. And vice versa, if I see something I know she can't get I will send it over to her. This has been going on for a few years now and its always nice to get a suprise package in the post!
A few weeks ago I had a parcel waiting for me when I got in from work. A message on the box was a "pre-birthday gift!". I knew instantly that it was Lush as I could smell it through the protective box. As soon as I opened it I saw shiny gold wrapping paper and a bright red bow. On the tag read "Shiney Happy People". I must admit this gift didn't look like the usual git from Lush, they normally have colourful, patterned paper. But as the wrapping would end up in the bin does it really matter?!
It contains:- Bohemian Soap and Each Peach (and Twos a Pear) Massage Bar
Bohemian:-
Scented with nothing but lemon, Bohemian is Lush's simplest soap (not to mention one of their oldest, considering Bohemian dates back to Lush's birth in 1995). In the shop, this soap will provide a refreshingly clean, enlivening fragrance, without the slightest trace of tartness. However, not only is Bohemian's lemony freshness overly subtle even at the best of times, but Bohemian is very quick to lose all of its fragrance.
This is consistently true, but even more so with soap slices that do not contain a great deal of whitened chunks, meant to resemble fruit pulp and containing the bulk of Bohemian's lemon oil. Within a mere day or two, this soap's only enticing feature is its sunny colour and the brightening, softening effect it has on your skin. One might assume that lemon, given its acidity, might be drying on the skin. Au contraire!
In this soap's recipe, while lemon's detoxifying properties work wonders on spotty bodies, it also leaves normal to oily skin toned and baby smooth. In fact, every time I use Bohemian, my manicurist comments on how soft my skin is (and this without an application of body lotion.) What a shame that Bohemian's aromatic benefits wind up being positively nonexistent, because its skin care benefits are nothing short of stellar right across the boards.
Each Peach:-
"In this book, with your little eye, take a look and play I Spy." The name Each Peach is a play off of Janet Ahlberg's children's book "Each Peach Pear Plum", where kiddies have to find hidden nursery rhyme characters in pictures. ("Each Peach Pear Plum. I spy Tom Thumb!") And likewise, so do you find yourself looking for hidden fruits in this Massage Bar by way of its name alone. It doesn't smell like a peach. It doesn't smell like a pear. In fact, if you look closely, you'll find almost every fruit except peaches and pears! And as much as you might like peaches and pears, we won't hear you complaining, I can assure you.
With skin restorative cocoa, shea, and avocado butters combined with mood and circulation restorative Persian lime, red grapefruit, sweet orange and mandarin, what you have here is a Massage Bar that also makes an excellent Body Butter treatment in the shower. Packed with natural skin toners, you can either be a traditionalist and have someone butter you up (pun intended) or you can massage this bar onto your skin in the shower and follow it up with a blast of toning cold water to remove excess oils and leave your skin and brain in their perkiest state ever.
One of Lush's two best "mood" massage bars, it's packed with anti-depressant essential oils, their soft, sweet, fruit dessert fragrance (topped with an aromatic dollup of cream) guaranteed to gently open your eyes, clear your head, and banish lethargy and fatigue. (For those who suffer from depression or Seasonal Affective Disorder, I strongly recommend keeping two Massage Bars on hand at all times: an Each Peach for use in the mornings, and a lavender and citrus Therapy Massage Bar for the evenings.)
All this and looks, too: the saffron-tinted, lemon creme coloured Each Peach & Two's A Pear bears a beautiful etching of fragile fruit flowers blossoming on sprawling tree branches. So if you need a lift and don't have time for a full massage, simply apply Each Peach's oils to pulse points
and breathe deeply while admiring this dainty work of Asian-inspired art. That should do the trick to instantly set you straight again.
Despite the gifts unusual Lush plain style this gift is actually pretty useful! Both items are reguarly in stock in my bathroom and when put together they work like a treat! I have no idea why this isn't sold in the UK as I think this would really sell well. After using these items my skin feels refreshed, soothed and moisturised. Its a good job these individual items are available in the UK!
Summary: A real skin wake up!
