Advantages: Keeps your feet fresh
Disadvantages: The packaging
I am a huge fan of Lush's dusting powders just because they come in so useful especially in the summer when your clothes can make you feel a bit sticky and uncomfortable, especially if you in an office all day with very little ventilation. So apart from keeping your body dusted you hav to keep your feet dusted too! When you work say in an office you tend to wear the same shoes all the time, yes you may have a selection but unless you earn thousands upon thousands and can afford to wear a different pair of shoes for 365 days a year. Fortunately I don't suffer with sticky feet but after a while your shoes can start to pong! So in order to keep my feet and shoes fresh I use T for Toes and have been for around a year.
T for Toes is Lush's tea tree dusting powder for keeping feet and shoes dry and odour-free. And it does indeed keep new shoes safe from becoming weapons of mass destruction. But if you have shoes, boots, or trainers that are already quite stinky, well...at first you might think "all's well that smells well"! As T for Toes cannot de-stink already well used footwear! Trust me I have tried! My converse just keep having to go in the washing machine!
Yet contrary to Lush's claim, the bacteria that cause odours are never altogether successfully eliminated, leaving T For Toes to ultimately serve more as a temporary cover up on fabric, requiring that you reapply religiously. On the other hand, dusting this powder directly on your feet (as is also recommended by Lush) certainly keeps whiffs permanently under control; in fact, for as long as you use this powder, your tootsies will remain dry and won't smell anything but fresh as a summer's breeze. Which is great for keeping everything fresh, however as I don't have stinky feet I don't know how well it would cope for a big odour.
Yet owed to this powder's dense, chalky, china clay (kaolin) base, if you don't blend it into the skin with the sweeping strokes of a powder brush, you'll also wind up with white odourless feet (particularly around the ins and outs of your toes), especially if you don't apply this powder super sparingly. Without using the powder brush on some footwear, especially fabric shoes such as trainers you can get little white dusty patches on the top of your shoes from where you have walked and the powder has been pushed upwards!
This takes me to my final point; as soon as you bring it home from the shop, repot this powder into a seal-tight container of your own. The packaging for this powder doesn't exactly permit sparing applications, even if used in tandem with a powder puff/brush. There are two sets of dispenser holes on the lid; a large demi-lune hole that provides you with a constant, in-bulk pour, or three large square holes providing you with a constant, in-bulk pour. And traveling with this ill-sealed, leaky pot, even if it's only to the gym? Do yourself (and everything in your bag) a favour; don't even think about it. Unfortunately Lush seem to love this sort of packaging despite its flaws they just won't seem to change it so unfortunately it's better to use your own packaging! Hopefully one day Lush will finally sort the packaging out!!
What Lush say:-
Foot Powder to prevent disgustingly cheesy toe pongs.
Bacteria will breed wherever there is moisture and they breed faster if it's warm. Think how happy their microscopic colonies are when billions of them find themselves next to a sweaty foot in a warm shoe. To stop them in their tracks you need to soak up the sweat with absorbent powders and kill off the microbes with anti-fungal and antibacterial essential oils. This is exactly what T for Toes does which is why it sells so well. Get some just in case and sprinkle it on your toes before you put your socks on and in your shoes when you take them off. Prevention is better than cure.
T for Toes costs £5.63 for a tub of 100g and I think this is really reasonable and it also lasts a long long time as a little goes along way. This is the ideal product to keep your feet and shoes fresh as a daisy!!
Summary: A must for all feet and shoes
