Advantages: It smells beautiful

Disadvantages: Turns the water neon yellow

Now all my other reviews about bath ballistics basically say that I'm not a fan whatsoever, that they are a waste of money blah blah! Well that won't change is this review whatsoever!!!

I was bought The Sicillian because its italian and my friend bought it because im italian! Now Sicily was not always part of Italy until the italian unification of 1860! However Sicily is renowned for its production in oranges and lemons. So Lush decided to name it after the sundrenched valleys of Sicily!!

I took my ballistic out of its usual bright yellow paper bag and actually thought how nice it looked! Perfectly round, the colour of lemons and it smelt divine. It kinda reminded me of Lemslip Butter Cream, that cirtus aroma was addictive.

Well, you might expect that a bath reminiscent of Sicilian orange groves would be orange in colour, but not so. Instead, expect this bath bomb to remind you more of radioactive pee when it hits the water, which is not pretty to look at! You'd also expect it to smell of oranges, and when it's solid, it does: it smells like a scrumptiously fizzy mimosa, something you could quite happily smell all day every day.

But then it hits the water, and your glass of mimosa suddenly
seems half empty. After 20 minutes, you realize that someone must have guzzled your drink when you weren't looking, because all you're left with is scentless (pee) water and your only saving grace is a floating orange slice (someone recently said that Lush no longer includes this, but they're wrong), and marigold petals, which cleverly serve to look like floating bits of orange pulp. And yes I normally despise things floating around in my bath but I could hardly tell me friend how much I hate it! It was a lovely thought from her and couldn't burst her bubble!

To give it credit Sicillian fizzes incredibly well! And continued for the remainder of my bath, it created a white bubble lather on top of the bath which turned the water (apart from neon yellow) incredibly soft and my skin did feel silky smooth. But unfortunately this didn't win me over as sitting in the bath with my eyes closed so I can't look at the water is not fun!

And fortunately, if you hold the orange slice to your nose, you can get a wee whiff of mimosa all over again, even if it does seem a bit sad that you've resorted to sniffing cocktail garnishes because the bartender cut you off.

I was hoping this ballistic would give me a nice pick me up on a weekend morning, something which could wake me up from the night before and change my thoughts about ballistics. But I was wrong, as pretty as it looks and wonderful as it smells solid unfortunately when it hits the bath its game over.

Ingredients:

Sodium Bicarbonate, Citric Acid, Orange Slice (Citrus Aurantium dulcis), Orange Oil (Citrus dulcis), Tangerine Oil (Citrus reticulata), Mandarin Oil (Citrus nobilis), Neroli Oil (Citrus Aurantium amara), Bergamot Oil (Citrus Aurantium bergamia), Marigold Petals (Calendula officinalis), *Limonene, *Linalool, Perfume, Gardenia Extract (Gardenia jasminoides),.

Available online as a retro (it was discontinued in 2006) for around £2.50.

Maybe I got a complete dud and maybe people probably really like this ballistic but I wouldn't recommend it unfortunately and I think they should leave the lemons in the lemon grove and discontinue it completely.

Summary: A ballistic thats lost its fizz
