Oh, Lush - why do you DO these things to me? Will they ever learn that it's the smell, the skin-softening essential oils, that we like in our baths - not dried fruit and little woody cloves?! I didn't choose this bubble bar - it was a freebie when I bought some other things. Me being me, I rather want to try everything anyway, but this definitely wasn't top of my list. Although technically part of the Christmas range, this seems more obviously a Halloween product, from the name down to the appearance: well, something about the star anises (looking very fishy, if you ask me!) studded around the outside, and the lilac dusted with green (parsley!) colour scheme. ... OK, picture the scene. It had been a long day at work, not a particularly terrible day but busy, very busy. It had been my turn to do the school assembly and playground duty, during which time, like an idiot, I managed to fall over, ruining my best trousers and skinning my knees so that blood cascaded down my legs. Ouch! So when I eventually staggered home I was selfishly pleased to discover that my oldest son was on his way to a friend's house and my husband was out with the younger two children and wouldn't be back for two hours. An empty house! I decided to run a hot bath and make the most of it. So which of my lovely new Lush products to use? ... Read the complete review

I suspect that this is a love-it or hate-it product - don't worry, I promise not to mention marmite. I love Halloween, I love witches (not that I have met all that many) and I LOVE this bubble bar! This isn't the first time that I have written "this is what Lush is all about...." - so ok, this is ONE of the things that Lush is all about, by witch (geddit?) I mean it is typical of Lush's tendency to make rather messy products with lots of bits and pieces, lots going on. This excites some people (me!) and of course irritates others. If you are looking for an easy life in the bath department, probably best to steer clear of most Lush products, and this one in ... Read the complete review

The Witches Ball is a new Lush bubble bar, out for Halloween but, I believe, available until Christmas. This to me, is a very strange looking thing, full of 'bits', something that irritates me about the Lush products, but in terms of a product for Halloween it does manage to achieve looking slightly mystical and a little bit spooky. As you may be able to see from the picture, it's a round shape, like a squashed down ball, and is predominantly purple, but is actually cover in dried parsley, which makes it look slight green. It also has two star anise pods pressed into the side, which only adds to its unusual appearance. This has an impressive list of ... Read the complete review

This is the first and only bubble bar from Lush that I have used and I was very, very impressed. It was part of the Christmas 2008 range and is a limited edition, though I'm crossing all my fingers and toes that it comes back next year - I absolutely loved it. From the description in the Lush catalogue and reviews here on Dooyoo I thought I might like it, so I decided to put it on my Christmas list, and then I waited anxiously to see if I would get one! Luckily I did get it, so then all I had to do was decide when to use it. I used all the specifically Christmassy products at Christmas (although my bar of Christmas Cake soap has not dissolved entirely yet) and ... Read the complete review
