Advantages: Has multiple uses, great for men and women, very gentle on sensitive skin.
Disadvantages: Different bottles may vary in thickness of gel, depending on who 'made' it.
I am always on the look-out for natural bath and body products which smell interesting and aren't your bog standard fragrance of lavendar, vanilla, rose etc... I also like to make sure that when looking for something new to buy that it can be used in multiple ways, such as a shampoo and body wash, so if I don't like how it works one way, I can use it for something else.
Lush, the natural bath and cosmetics company was the first place I headed to on one of my many visits. For those who are not familiar with the Lush company, they pride themselves on creating interesting and innovative products made all from natural ingredients such as butters, oils, plant extract and fruit! Their products range from face masks to shower gels, shampoo bars to shaving creams, soaps to moisturisers... I think you get the idea! The great thing about Lush is that non of their products are animal tested and many of their little wonders are vegan!
So after having a good browse through the shop, I stumbled across a shelf full of green bottles, varying in size and looking quite mysterious. The dark green gel inside looked too good to resist and seconds later I was at the till buying a bottle. I must admit I didn't really have any clue what I was buying apart from the fact that it was a shower gel.
Upon arriving back at my home, I was intrigued to see what this bottle was all about. Tramp comes in 3 different sizes - 100g for £2.95, 250g for £5.95 and 500g for £9.50 and they are presented in clear shower gel bottles with a black flip top lid. On the front of the bottle is a black sticker with the Lush logo, the name 'TRAMP' is splashed across the front and the list of ingredients as well as an additional yellow sticker telling you when your bottle was made, it’s best before date and a picture of the person who made it! Very personal touch! The dark green gel can clearly be seen also.
Ingredients: (taken from the bottle itself)
White Horehound Infusion (Marrublum vulgare), Balm Infusion (Melissa officinalis), Water (Aqua), Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Lauryl Betaine, Propylene Glycol, Sea Salt (Sodium Chloride), Patchouli Oil (Pogostemon cablin), Oakmoss Absolute (Evernia prunastri) Plantain Vinegar Gel, Eugenol, Perfume, CI 57810, Methylparaben.
So off I hop into the shower eager to try this dark green concoction. As soon as I opened the bottle, a lovely smell of patchouli instantly hits me and I feel like I’ve just been transported into a rainforest! This is the kind of scent that would be great for men especially, but women also! After squeezing a blob of Tramp into the palm of my hand, it’s quite a thick gel and such a deep dark green, so green it’s kind of strange at first! Getting a lather with Tramp is no problem at all and because its so thick you dont need much! (However, since my first bottle I have found that the degree of thickness differs from bottle to bottle, but this doesnt change the lather!) The gel cleans exceptionally well and with having such sensitive and dry skin, I found it very gentle and soothing.
Since using it as a showel gel, I’ve also found it is fantastic as a shampoo (in my experience it keeps dandruff at bay), shaving soap and is great for washing clothes! So to find something that is multi-purpose is fantastic! I now use Tramp for all of the above which means less bottles and tubes sitting around the bathroom!
I recommend this to anyone as it’s an all round quality product and it’s definitely value for money! It lasts absolutely ages (The small 100g bottle lasts me around 2 months) and has many uses which I find a real plus!
Tramp can be bought online from Lush.co.uk, any of their shops situated around the UK and also internationally.
Summary: Multipurpose body wash that leaves you feeling like you just stepped out of a rainforest!
