Advantages: Smells divine, it is sparkly
Disadvantages: it isnt pink
Christmas gets earlier every year that is for sure, the adverts start on the television months in advance, the supermarkets gets their decorations and advent calendars out and people generally start feeling a little stressed at the thought of being trampled on when shopping for gifts. The only real reason to be happy is because Lush bring out their Christmas catalogue of gifts and my favourite ones are only available once a year so I have to ensure I am there early to beat the rush and get stocked up (the Lush shop is very small).
My favourite Lush products have to be Bath Ballistics and I am yet to be convinced it should be any other product in the Lush range, even though I do use rather a lot of them. The reason I like Bath Ballistics is because I like spending an hour or so in a steaming hot bath with divine smelling aromas combined with a good book and if I have been a really good girl a nice glass of Rose. What could be a better way to relax and unwind? For those of you out there who hate Lush or have never tried their products, you really do not know what you are missing.
A Bath Ballistic is usually tennis ball shaped bath bombs it is just that Lush have chosen the phrase 'Bath Ballistic' as a definition. Bath Ballistics are made up of bicarbonate of Soda which gives them the 'fizzing effect' when they are placed in water and they are packed full of essential oils, which give off the wonderful aromas that I am so fond of.
The best seasonal Lush Ballistic is Puddy Holly and without fail I buy it every year, however this year I wanted a change and I opted for 'Twinkle' which at £1.90 for a 95g ball is a bargain. Twinkle is a shimmering Bath Ballistic which stands out very clearly within any Lush shop and it is an ice blue colour, so nothing fancy like being shaped like a Christmas Pudding, its only optional extras is sparkling glitter which twinkles under the lights and I bought it because I loved the smell as soon as picked one up.
Whenever I go into a Lush shop I won't buy something I don't like the smell of and it may surprise some people to know that I don't like every Lush product I have tried. Watch this space for a non recommendation from me!
When it comes to using your Bath Ballistic Lush do suggest, or the shop assistant will tell you that you simply place your Bath Ballistic into a bath a of running water and once the tap is running at a nice warm temperature, or in my case very warm because I like hot steamy baths where you would do the monkey "ooohh ahhh" impression when dipping your toe in. Then you simply watch it fizz away on its own, spinning round in the water fizzing slowly away and melting into nothing whilst turning your water into an ice blue colour, which I have to admit is not the most exciting colour ever but the smell it produced more than made up for it as did the glitter which now sparkled under the lights.
Once the Ballistic has fizzed away into the water I was ready to get into my ice blue coloured sparkly bubble filled bath to relax. The aroma given off by this Ballistic is instant as it begins to fizz away in the water and my bathroom was filled with a wonderful aroma.
Again after my lovely luxurious bath, my skin was left feeling totally moisturised, it was a lot softer than it would have been after using any high street brand bath creams which I often buy if I see something I like the sound of on a BOGOF offer. I also have extremely sensitive skin and often find that I am limited in which products I can use, for example I am allergic to The Body Shop shower creams and gels, but with Lush I haven't had any problems whatsoever, so that means I can now become a Lush addict and try everything. You will find that your skin looks sparkly after use too because some of the glitter will have attached itself to your skin but it does wash off very easily.
So what contributes to such a wonderful smell? For starters we have Lavender Oil which is ultimately the main smell and it is Lavender brings about a calming effect which may aid in relaxation and the reduction of anxiety. This is then followed by Clary Sage which is ideal for creating the perfect atmosphere for a relaxing massage or bath and then we have Vanilla Absolute which thankfully does not mask the smell of Lavender because I am not a big fan of vanilla smelling products, it is too sweet smelling for me and there is of course Iridescent Glitter which is the white sparkly glitter you find on Christmas Decorations and such like. As always with Lush there is a whole list of further ingredients, which can be found on the Lush Website.
One of the main benefits of these Bath ballistics is that you don't have to use it all at once, unless you are like me and shove the whole thing into your bath. You could also snap this product into two pieces for double pleasure
Thankfully once the bathwater is emptied there is no horrid looking scum stuff left behind like you get with some products which I am thankful for because there is nothing worse than getting out of your bath feeling relaxed to find there is a brown coloured mark left behind which you hurriedly have to scrub off before someone sees it. After you have emptied the bathwater out the only thing left behind are some remnants of the sparkly glitter which are easily washed away.
So would I recommend this product? I absolutely would without a shadow of a doubt. For those people who enjoy baths as much as I do to relax, I don't think there is an alternative, having now used a Lush Ballistic and a Lush Bubble Bar Slice I don't think using normal bath creams would be as inviting.
Also as someone with super sensitive skin I would also suggest their products, but I would advise you to go onto their website and check the ingredients used, they are listed under each product so it is easy to find out.
