I actually received this body lotion in a set I was bought for my birthday, and was pleasantly surprised!
This is first available from Lush which I know most people will walk past and say "What is that smell?" but until you brave it into the shop, you will never see the delights it offers. This body lotion is priced around £12.75 for the 250ml but mine is only the 100ml one in the gift sets but is more then enough to last!
The packaging is very secure compared to some body lotions which have a flimsy cap or a massive cap which enables half of the cream to get stuck inside there which just becomes a waste and messy! The label kindly details all of the ingredients and its big enough to read which is always good. My favourite part of lush products is that it always tells you when it was made and when to use it by. For me this is essential as i have sensitive skin so find that a lot of products actually react with my skin. But with this product, i can simply throw it away when it gets past the "use by date" which is normally a year from the production date.
Onto the product itself, as soon as you open the lid you get a sensational smell pop out under your nose of the vanilla essence. It's nice as it's not your typical bland vanilla smell, it's actually more coconuty. The cream itself comes out quickly however so do not squeeze the bottle too tight or loads will come out! Once onto your skin, it spreads really nicely and it's not a thick body butter so doesn't hang around on your skin too long. It sinks in nicely and doesn't leave any residue or dry parts of the cream. Not much is needed of this lotion as it covers a lot of skin in just a small drop, hence why even my gift set size bottle is more then enough for somebody to try. The best part of this product is that the vanilla smell will stay on your skin ALL day no matter what you do. I regularly get compliments from people asking on my perfume when infact it's this lotion! It leaves your skin moisturised but not to the point of greasy which is the main point here. It's great on any part of your skin, even as just a hand cream if you wish.
For me with sensitive skin i found this product fantastic and will certainly be buying more of it!!
I love the smell of this product pure vanilla and the scent lasts ages on your skin. The lotion itself is easy to apply it glides on and soaks in well without being greasy or tacky its a lovely light lotion ideal for any time of day or night and you wont need perfume as well !
Definatley one of my favourite lush products quick and easy and being a light lotion it lasts ages too I think this product is worth the money as a treat for yourself or a gift for someone else.
A word of warning keep it out of sight or it will probably start disapeering but with a lovely scent like this at least you will know who the culprit is !!
I got this lush body lotion for 20 pence on a carboot brand new which was an amazing price for a big full size bottle.
The product is a gorgeous scent and does smell much like vanilla does but a more toned down version of it. It is quite a thick lotion but is still very easy to blend into the skin when you are wet or dry. The scent lasts on your body for around 2 hours which I don't think is two bad for a lotion. It nourishes the skin a lot and makes it feel soft , smooth and healthy . It is perfect for all seasons especially summer as it feels so light on the skin .
The packaging to this product isn't the best. It is a clear bottle so you can see the product through it. There is a flip lid which is easy to get up and down however it isn't the easiest thing tosqueeze of the container . You have to be quite strong to do so which I'm not so instead I would recommend undoing the screw of lid and getting the product out that way . It is much easier and takes a lot less effort.
This packaging is not accepted in the lush recycling programme as that is for the black pots only however once cleaned up you could certainly reuse the bottle because there is a screw off lid. This product is not travel friendly as you can't put it in your hand luggage as it is over 100ml .
Overall I would defo recommend this product xoxo Imogen
I'm currently not on the lookout for new body or skin care products due to finances, and feeling quite comfortable and safe using different items prescribed to keep at bay Psoriasis and general dry skin. But I still can't help casting an eye on products for sale when out and about. I saw this particular body lotion on sale at a local stay and play for £2.50 for a 250ml bottle.
Why did I buy this?
I've walked past a Lush store in my city centre loads of times, and thoroughly enjoyed the smells but never took it any further. Reviews on this site and others have opened my eyes in regards to the many different products that this store sells. From time to time one of my daughter's stay and plays has things on sale behind reception. The funds get pumped back into the various services they have to offer in the building. I saw this, along with afew other Lush products, and was curious to know what it was like. When I found out they were selling this for £2.50 I knew it would be worth a try. More importantly, vanilla happens to be one of my favourite fragrances ever!
What is this lotion supposed to do?
This lotion is designed to nourish, moisturise and lightly scent the skin on the body.
How is it packaged?
This product comes in a plastic clear bottle, with a black flip top lid to squeeze the lotion out. 250g in size. The labelling is mostly black and white in colouring, with the product name emblazed on the front with a brief sensory description of some of it's ingredients. Right at the bottom is the ' Lush ' logo in very small lettering.
On the back is an ingredients list, a brief description of what one of the ingredients does to the skin that's contained in the lotion and company contact details. Also, a circular sticker stating who made the product ( by name ), what date and what the use by date is.
Hibiscus Infusion, Spring Water, Pure Organic Coconut Water, Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, Stearic Acid, Cocoa Butter, Fresh Kiwi Fruit, Glycerine, Triethanolamine, Illipe Butter, Fair Trade Vanilla Absolute, Jasmine Absolute, Tonka Absolute, Organic Tamanu Oil, Cetearyl Alcohol, *Coumarin, Hydroxycitronellal, Lilial, Perfume, Methylparaben, Propylparaben.
How to use
As you would with any body lotion, normally onto clean skin so after bath or shower.
What is it like?
You can immediately see the colour of this lotion through the packaging. It's almost a taupe colour. Since this little bottle feels quite weighty, and I didn't hear the usual sloppy noise you get with quite a thin liquid consistency lotion, I expected this to be quite thick.
When you flip the top up and I had a good smell of this product, it was obvious this was vanilla in its classic form. Very sweet and warm, with very little other elements to it that I could smell. The intensity of the fragrance was quite strong to me, more so when taken out of its packaging. Somewhere behind the vanilla, in a very faint way, I detected a light floral scent.
Although not someone who wears liquid foundation make up, when I squeezed this lotion out onto my hands ( and it took some squeezing! ), this is what it reminded me off! I think it was more the colouring and the texture. It came out quite thick with a splodge, but while smoothing it over my skin the consistency was what I would expect from a body lotion- smooth, easy to move around on the skin, not liquid but loose enough to use.
Very easy to rub into the skin. It took very little effort to sink in despite using far too much, so a little goes along way. Despite the fact my skin had been moisturised, and it felt smooth and silky to touch, it didn't appear or feel greasy. In fact, it looked quite matt which surprised me. Not a bad thing, as my body didn't look or feel dry but appeared quite ' normal '.
The scent was very obvious on the skin, and didn't disappear. It pretty much enveloped itself around me.
So what do I think?
Packaging wise, I found this to be quite fun and youthful in look, but didn't favour a particular sex. I liked the touch in regards to the sticker saying who made it and when ( if that's true that is! ), but hated the fact it covered the ingredients list and I couldn't peel it off! I did feel it took alittle effort to get the lotion out, and when it came too much would come out at once. But I think that's more in regards to the consistency of the product rather than the packaging.
I'm not too keen on the colour. I would've preferred it to look more creamy white rather than similar to a very milky coffee. It didn't tempt me and put me off slightly.
I loved the texture. I normally like thick and heavy creams, but I liked how this still provided plenty of moisture to the skin and left the skin quite matt. This meant this would make an ideal lotion for me to use when in a rush e.g using after a shower just before the school run, and then quickly throw my clothes on without my clothes having marks left on them.
I wasn't too sure about the scent at first. Not the smell itself, as I adore vanilla, but more the strength. I found it when I first used it too heady and quite clawing. But at that time I was suffering from quite bad headaches, and my head and my sense were quite sensitive. So I waited afew days letter to use this again when I felt much better, and I didn't get the same feeling. Yes, the smell is obvious but not overpowering for me. I did find this fragrance lasted hours on my skin, and rather than completely disappear after use or afew hours later, it would slowly diminish in strength leaving a very subtle scent to the skin.
I'm not experiencing at the moment a flair up with my Psoriasis, although I have a small patch on my hand and neck, I haven't found this lotion has caused any irritation to the skin. But I have avoided these patches as this is a new range and product for me, and I didn't want to take any chances.
After I used this on one occasion I let my son smell my arm and he said, ' Mummy, that smells delicious! I want that on after my bath! '. A week later, he's had this on every night after his bath as he loves the smell so much, and its been fine on his skin, no problems.
This is a very warm and comforting fragrance that is perfect for me anytime during the year, but more so when the weather is miserable and its cold. This is how I think vanilla should smell most of the time, and I think most people who either love vanilla or warm, foody type notes would like this too.
Would I buy this again?
Yes I would. I love the fragrance, the product is moisturising and causes no issues with irritation. And my son loved it!
Wish I bought more now. Checking the online prices from Lush, I got a bargain!
Price & Where to Buy
I absolutely love the products from Lush and for Christmas I was so thrilled to receive a gift set which contained a 100g bottle of this body lotion. Normally the bottle is 250g and retails at £12.50. This is bought in the Lush shops or on the Lush website: www.lush.co.uk.
Products from Lush have a sticker on the back of them with somebody's face on, this is the person who has made the product, and it gives a date to use the product until.
This body lotion is described by Lush as being 'light and fruity' which I personally would disagree with, I did not find it at all fruity, just very very sweet. The body lotion combines kiwi fruit with coconut oil and coconut water, cocoa butter and Fair Trade vanilla absolute.
The bottle states that it is a lotion for the body and hands. But personally I would not use it on my hands as a hand cream, just on the body.
I was really looking forward to trying this as I love the solid body butter bars from Lush so I thought this would be lovely too. My first dislike though was the plastic bottle it came in, it looked very cheap and I certainly would not be happy at paying £12.50 for a full size bottle of this in this packaging. My second concern was the smell of vanilla, as I love vanilla if it smells natural but unfortunately this one is very strong and sweet smelling and it smells quite artificial to me even though I know that fresh ingredients are used, not artificial ingredients.
Anyway I first tried this when I got out of the shower. I squeezed a reasonable amount into my hand and smoothed it onto my arms and legs. The first thing I noticed when I squeezed it into my hand was that it was quite hard to get out of the packaging, the bottle has a flip lid so you squeeze the bottle to get the product to come out and it came through the tiny little gap very very slowly. I am a person who is always rushing about so I didn't care much for its slow squeezing! Anyway once I had squeezed it into my hand I noticed it had a pearl finish to it. This I actually really liked as I thought it might make my skin glow which I felt it did.
I liked the texture of the body lotion, it was lightweight and it sank into my skin quickly and easily so I could apply clothes straight away. The smell of the vanilla did linger for at least an hour. My boyfriend commented on how nice it smell (even though I still did not like the smell).
Is this for all skin types?
Personally I do not think this body lotion would be enough for somebody with a dry skin. It instantly sinks in and makes the body feel lovely and smooth but for somebody with a drier skin I would imagine they would need a thicker and creamier texture than this. I would say that this formula is lighter than most body lotions I have tried.
Despite the fact that I did not like the packaging, or the smell, I did actually really like the texture of the body lotion. It is perfect for me as I like to be quick in applying body lotions and I like to straight away put clothes on. If you like the very sweet vanilla smell I am sure you would be impressed with its lasting power. I find that after 10 minutes you cannot usually smell a body lotion but this one was certainly still around an hour later. Personally I am still a fan of the solid body butters from Lush, but I still finished off using this bottle. It was nice to try something different that I would not normally pick up as well.
I give this product 3 stars: 1 star for its texture (allowing it to sink in straight away), 1 star for its pearl effect glow, and the last star for its lasting smell (even though I did not like the smell).
I had a sniff of this when I was in Lush a few weeks back and it smelt so amazing that I decided to buy a bottle! At just under £12 for a 250 gram bottle it isn't particularly cheap but I feel that the quality and the natural ingredients justify the price and make it worth every penny. The body lotion contains mainly natural ingredients & a few synthetic ingredients.
I love the fact that it contains coconut water and coconut oil because I'm obsessed with coconut oil in skin care products at the minute because it is really moisturising! It also contains hisbicus, vanilla absolute, spring water and kiwi fruit along with lots of other ingredients - all of which are Vegan friendly and cruelty free (Lush are against animal testing). The body lotion comes in a plastic bottle which has a flip top lid which I really like, as I find it more hygienic than the pots of body butter. I would prefer the bottle to be a little easier to squeeze but apart from that the packaging is really good and I like that it can be recycled.
The lotion itself has a lovely texture and it is just the right consistency. It is lightweight and smooth with a slightly runnier texture to it than most of my other body lotions, though not to the point of dripping everywhere. Although it is not thick, it still has a slight creaminess to it so it feels nice and luxurious, but not at all heavy or gloopy - the perfect consistency in my opinion.
I have very dry skin and I find that I need to use quite a lot of this body lotion for my skin to feel as hydrated as it does with a thick body butter. It spreads over my skin easily and it absorbs extremely quickly and leaves it feeling smooth and soft but still a little dry and not completely moisturised so I need to really slather a lot of it on, as if I don't I will still need to use a thick body butter afterwards.
The body lotion does sink in really quickly though and there's no residue or greasiness left behind at all and my skin doesn't feel like it is covered in lotion or anything no matter how much of it I use, which I like as it means I don't have to spend time waiting for it to absorb and dry! As long as I use a lot of the lotion, my skin does feel quite hydrated but for very dry skin it is not ideal and for this reason I won't be repurchasing as it simply is not intensive enough for my very dry skin unless I use loads of it.
On a more positive note, the smell of this lotion is amazing - it smells good enough to eat! It smells like sweet vanilla mixed with cocoa butter, which some people might not like the sound of but it isn't a fake, sickly vanilla sort of smell, it smells natural and creamy and it is really nice. There is a slight , somewhat strange but surprisingly pleasant musky kind of base note to it which actually works well - it stops it from smelling sickly and the overall sweetness of it is not overpowering or overly feminine.
The smell lingers on my skin for literally hours and hours so its a good job I like the smell! My fiancé also likes the smell of it and although it is sweet it isn't too girly in my opinion! All in all I like this body lotion but it is not moisturising enough for my very dry skin. I still highly recommend it though and I am not going to knock a star off because obviously it is a light lotion so it is not really aimed at people with dry skin. I love the smell and the texture, and I am going to give it five out of five stars.
Lush is my all time favourite shop and I spend far too much time and money there. I like to treat myself to something every week be it a solid perfume, a bath bomb or some other lotion or potion. My most recent purchase was some Vanilla Dee-Lite body lotion as I was in the mood for some vanilla products.
It was typically more than I would normally pay for a lotion but after smelling it in the shop I was convinced to give it a go at home. I had some lovely vanilla shower gel and I thought this would go lovely with it and I couldn't wait to have a bath that evening and try it out.
I didn't think that a lotion would be moisturising enough for my skin as it was feeling particularly dry at the time and I thought that I would probably have to apply this a couple of times since it was a lotion as I thought it would just soak in. I was really pleasantly surprised however when I used it and realised that it was much more nourishing that I had thought it was going to be and it left my skin feeling lovely.
The consistency of the lotion is really light and quite runny but it is jam packed with things that are good for skin that it couldn't fail but to moisturise my skin. It has things like kiwi, tamanue oil, cocoa butter and illipe butter in it as well as some other natural oils.
It feels absolutely gorgeous to use and it is so easy to apply as it absorbs really quickly in to my skin and it doesn't leave it feeling heavy or greasy afterwards. I think this would be lovely to use in the summer when I don't need such a heavy moisturiser as although I love my body butters I do find them too heavy when the sun is shining.
The best thing for me about this was the smell which was gorgeous. It was really vanilla smelling but it also smelt fruity as well and it scented my skin lovely without being sickly sweet. I put this on after my bath and could still smell it on my skin the next morning.
I did notice that it didn't smooth the skin on my knees and elbows as much as a body butter would but I didn't mind because it moisturised much better than almost any other light lotion that I have ever used and I will definitely be buying some more when this bottle has run out so that I have some for the summer when I am in a vanilla mood. It costs £11.95 for a bottle but this should last for ages as I have used it a few times and not used that much yet.
A couple of months ago I received a Lush gift box which contained a range of goodies which I have slowly been working through and reviewing. One of the items was the Vanilla Dee-lite body lotion. I was pleased to receive this as in recent months I have been trying to make more of an effort with looking after the skin on my body. For a number of years now I have a good skincare regime for my face but this never extended to the rest of my body and I would rely on the moisturising properties of my shower gel. Not good I know! I must admit though that I am not a huge fan of vanilla scented products so as pleased as I was to receive this I was also a little sceptical as to whether I would really like it or not.
The bottle I received is a small one containing 100g of the product. The full sized bottle, which can be bought separately, retails at £11.95 and contains 250g of lotion. This in my opinion is quite an expensive purchase! The bottle itself is cylindrical in shape and made of clear plastic - handy so you know exactly how much product you have left. At the top is a flip top lid and the lotion is dispensed through this by gently squeezing the bottle. The lotion itself is a very pale yellow colour.
The lotion contains many skin softening/moisturising ingredients including cocoa butter, illipe butter, kiwi fruit, coconut water and coconut oil. Squeezing the lotion out of the bottle I noticed that it had quite a runny consistency - not surprising I guess for a body lotion, but in recent months I have been using a lot of body butter so the difference in consistency stood out for me. I tend to apply this at night just before hopping into bed. I squeeze a blob onto my hand and start massaging this into my skin and repeat this process several times to cover my whole body. Given its runny consistency it was quite surprising just how much effort it took for this to sink into my skin. I tend to have quite dry elbows and knees and my usual body butter does an excellent job with these areas and I didn't really expect much from this lotion. I was to be proved wrong! The lotion is light on my skin, not at all greasy, and once applied I can't really feel it there. It leaves my skin feeling silky smooth and thoroughly moisturised and pampered. The dry skin on my elbows and knees disappear and crucially still have not come back by morning!
The fragrance of this cream, as would be expected, is very sweet. I am not a huge fan of vanilla scents but this actually isn't too bad. It's not my favourite smelling product but it wouldn't stop me from using it either. For me the smell is a bit too much like honeysuckle which I don't like too much as I find it a bit too sweet and sickly. The scent does last a long time and I can even smell it on my skin the next morning, and if I apply it after my morning shower it is still there in the evening.
Overall I am quite impressed with this cream from Lush. It makes my skin feel silky soft and smooth and even does a good job with my dry skin. I am not too keen on the scent but it is growing on me and it's not something that would stop me from using this product. The price is a bit off-putting as it is quite high but it's something I may find myself buying as an occasional treat or adding it to a present list. Recommended.
I received this lotion in a gift set and had almost forgotten about it until I opened the tin recently and there it was!
Hands down, this is my favourite body lotion I have ever owned. That's a pretty bold statement, but it's true. It's a bit pricey at £11.95 for a 250g bottle, but a little really does go a long way. The first time I used it I ended up with an incredibly greasy arm because I used the amount of lotion I would usually use with any other body lotion and it was way too much. I just couldn't rub it all in so use less than your normal product for smooth but not greasy skin. I don't have very dry skin, but it is prone to drying out sometimes and this lotion keeps it hydrated all day.
Ingredients include coconut water, cocoa butter and kiwi fruit as well as the vanilla absolute. Cocoa butter is an old favourite in the body lotion world and kiwi fruit contains an enzyme which helps to digest dead skin. The vanilla absolute is responsible for the excellent smell.
I have a bit of a vanilla obsession at the moment. Anything with vanilla scent is a welcome addition to my shelf. I have candles, sprays, perfumes all with vanilla in them. I used to be a fruit fan, but I find vanilla so much more subtle and pleasant these days. Anyway, this body lotion not only makes my skin feel amazing, but leaves it with a soft scent of the rich vanilla all day. It really does last all day unlike most body lotions which is fantastic because it smells so good. The smell isn't as sickly sweet as some vanilla things (candles tend to be really sweet) that are more artificial; this smells like real vanilla and it's very natural and almost earthy.
One annoying thing about this product is the bottle. It's a very stiff plastic and it's quite hard to control how much you get out. It's also quite difficult to get the last drops out of the bottom. I would prefer a squeezy upside down bottle, but that's just my personal quibble.
As with all of Lush's products it is vegetarian and not tested on animals. Most Lush stores have a bottle top collection point so you can return the bottle top of this product and help save plastic! I really admire Lush's green initiatives and combined with their excellent products, they make a great brand to shop with.
Lush is one of my favourite shops and I love all the products they do - and this is no exception. I love anything Vanilla as well so when I saw this I just had to try it.
What is it and whats in it?
Vanilla dee-lite is a lovely moisturising lotion for your skin. Its full of lovely ingredients such as spring water, kiwi, hibiscus infusion, coconut oil, cocoa butter and vanilla fragrance - all natural stuff so nothing that can harm your skin! Kiwi fruit is full of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. It also has an enzyme that helps dissolve dead skin.
How to use it...
Simply lather it onto your skin for a lovely moisturising experience. It soaks in quite quickly so you can use it at any time so you dont have to wait for it to soak in.
I love this moisturising lotion, its lightweight but effective and a little bit goes a long way so it lasts for ages. The smell is delicious and leaves your skin smelling edible all day long! (saving you money on perfume as well as your skin already smells amazing from using this) If you put it on before you go to bed it leaves your bed smelling lucious too! It can be considered quite pricey at £11.25 for a 250ml bottle, but mine has lasted me aaaages and I use it quite regularly so you definitely get your monies worth from it.
So to summarise this is a lovely body lotion that smells absolutely divine! I would definitely recommend it to anyone, especially those people who like me, love vanilla!
To be honest, vanilla scented stuff never really used to do it for me as I think it can come across quite sickly. However, I was gifted a bottle of this for my birthday last year and being a fan of all things Lush, I felt it only fair that I give it a try!
Price: £11.75 for 250g - in my opinion this is okay for a body lotion and even though some people believe that Lush products are quite expensive, I think that when you take into account how long the products last, it works out very cheaply; the fact that they are also high quality, gorgeous products is just a huge bonus.
Availability: Both online at lush.co.uk and in-store
Packaging: Standard lush packaging as pictured above - recyclable which is great but I wouldn't mind a more adapted bottle for when you get down to a certain level of product towards the end of the bottle. I think that Lush packaging is very simple but effective and attractive at the same time.
I have used this body lotion on and off for over a year as I like to alternate between a few favourite products for my skin and I tend to go through phases, but I really do love the way that it leaves my skin feeling after I use it. It sinks into my skin quite quickly and it leaves my skin feeling really soft all day long. Some people recommend heating body lotion between your hands or something to allow it to sink into the skin quicker but I have never done this and I still find it to be very effective. A small amount goes quite a long way and you will find a bottle lasting you a good few months in total. It is not too runny or too thick.
When in Lush recently, the manager told me that Lush creams and lotions generally have about a year in terms of expiration - they can be used afterwards but they are most effective when still fresh. Some of the unique ingredients in this work hard to rejuvenate skin and I find it great also for when I have really dried out elbows or legs; no job is too big or too small for Vanilla Dee-Lite! I love using it after a long, hot bath or shower.
For me, the smell is, quite frankly, heavenly! I just took my bottle to smell it as I write this. It is also worth mentioning that the smell lasts all day long and there is no need for perfume as it leaves a delicate but gorgeous vanilla scent. Vanilla Dee-Lite also contains coconut, illipe butters and kiwi fruit, which I cannot smell, but there is that definite hint of coconut and something that reminds me of shea butter, for those of you who have ever used it. It really does linger all day or all night and if you use it just before you go to bed, you wake up to find that you also now have a bed that smells of your body lotion! I love this personally, but just bear that in mind.
Would I use it again?
Well, it smells gorgeous, it leaves my skin feeling soft, it is packed full of beautiful, natural ingredients which makes me feel even better about using it and it leaves my bedsheets and clothes smelling gorgeous as well as saving me a fortune on perfume - what more could I want from a body lotion? It lasts ages so it is also good value for money on top of everything else! I always have a bottle of this on the go now, definitely a vanilla convert for Lush products at least!
I love anything that smells of vanilla and now that I have realised that I like Lush products, I decided to go and see what was available with this scent. The product I ended up buying was Vanilla Dee-Lite Body Lotion.
This body lotion comes in a clear plastic bottle with a black screw top lid which also flips open at the top. The hole used to dispense the lotion isn't very big but this means you don't overuse it and waste any. The bottle has on it a black label with the product name, Lush logo, product information and the use by date along with who made it and when. The who made it detail on Lush products is something I like as it is cute and different although it really makes no difference to the product itself. The black label only covers part of the bottle so you are able to see the colour of the product, which isn't exactly yellow. Maybe more of a dark mustard colour.
For this 250g bottle of body lotion, it will cost you a whopping £11.75. I was very reluctant to pay this at first but then after realising how big the bottle was, I talked myself into thinking the price wasn't actually that bad. £11.75 is definitely not what I would normally pay for this kind of product but I wanted to treat myself and so I did.
The body lotion
As you open the lid to this product, you instantly get a very strong smell of vanilla which is not a bad thing in my eyes. However, the smell might be too strong for some. The lotion comes out of the bottle easily but not so easy that too much comes out at once. I mainly use this on my legs and I only need a small amount for each leg. The lotion is a nice mixture between thick and thin consistency, making it just right for me. It rubs into the skin extremely well and my skin feels soft straight after use.
Although this obviously has vanilla as an ingredient, it also has other things that I was not expecting to see like Kiwi and Coconut oil, Tonka and Jasmine. I love looking at the ingredients on Lush products because there are always things in there that I can never smell in the actual product. It also makes me wonder what these things do for the skin.
I bought my bottle of Vanilla Dee-Lite and I have barely made a dent in it. I use it about 3 or 4 times a week and I can see it lasting me a very long time. The use by date is August next year so that is plenty of time for me to use it all up. I don't want to be wasting the £11.75 that I splashed out for this. Still, as it is lasting me so long, it is great value for money compared with what I would normally use.
I love my vanilla body lotion and because it lasts so long and makes my skin lovely and soft, I would happily pay the hefty price tag again for it.
I can't remember how much I paid for this body lotion as I bought it a couple of years ago now!
The body lotion is 100% natural and free from synthetic fragrances. The body lotion is a light yellow colour and it smells delightful. I would describe the scent as a Vanilla scent with a touch of spice. The scent is quite strong so I wouldn't recommend it to people who dislike Vanilla scents as this is very much Vanilla!
The body lotion feels lovely when rubbed into the skin. You can use this body lotion all over the body but I was told that it can't be used on the face. The body lotion has a lovely thick consistency which makes it easy to work with. It's quite gloopy but it's supposed to be that way due to the natural thickening ingredients.
The body lotion absorbs into the skin well without feeling greasy and it doesn't leave the skin feeling sticky and/ or tacky either. It just leaves the skin feeling soft and smooth. It is a decent moisturising body lotion. It's like a big drink for my dry skin and it's lovely and cooling when used during the hot summer months. It also soothes sunburn and it doesn't irritate sensitive skin.
The body lotion keeps well as it has a shelf life of fourteen months. You also need just a small amount at a time as it covers the body well.
Gorgeous sweet smelling body lotion!
I love anything with Vanilla in the title. It's one of my favourite scents and whenever I see a Vanilla beauty product I have to have it. It's quite hard to spot the vanilla products in a Lush store. There are so many different scents coming from the hand made products that it's hard to sniff down what you want. Lush makes its products using natural ingredients so they always smell delicious.
This one in particularly Dee-licious! Vanilla Dee-Lite is a hand and body moisturising cream by Lush. It comes in a clear plastic bottle and you can see the creamy lotion inside. This product is not cheap and will cost you around £11 for 250 grams. You can find the lotion in your local Lush store or online.
The purpose of this cream is to be a light body and hand moisturiser better suited to summer days, than winter nights when your skin is likely to be drier. The silky formula is made using a combination of light oils and butters which will soothe and soften the skin. The butters also help to hydrate the skin and have rich moisturising qualities which restore the skins elasticity.
It also contains organic coconut water and coconut oils which hydrate your skin. Coconut oils are able to penetrate deep into the skin and it also aids in healing and repairing. It also helps to remove dead skin cells giving your skin a polished and healthy glow.
This product contains more of a vanilla scent than vanilla itself. The aroma is added after and is deliciously sweet but not sickly. The fragrance is fairly long lasting although it does alter slightly as time goes on, but it's still nice. The lotion also contains fresh Kiwi juice which gives the lotion a subtle but fruity kick.
The lotion is fairly thick but definitely gives a light moisturisation. It is absorbed quickly into the skin and you don't have to wait before dressing. It's not sticky or greasy so there will be no mess.
This moisturiser is not a remedy for dry skin and will do nothing to help tough spots like knees and elbows. I also don't think that the formula is strong enough to be called a hand cream.
One problem with this lotion is that it's difficult to get the product out of the bottle. The plastic is thick so you can't squeeze it out and as the lotion is fairly thick, it can be a nightmare when you're coming towards the end of the product. As this is such an expensive moisturiser, you'll want to use every last drop. The only solution is too store the bottle upside down.
All in all, this is a deliciously scented moisturiser which is good for daily moisturisation for normal skin. If your skin is a little dry, you'd be better off looking elsewhere. It leaves a gorgeous aroma on your skin and your body will feel soft without being left greasy. This will not replace my favourite body moisturiser but I still use it from time to time on areas which are not excessively dry because it smells so good!

Vanilla Dee-Lite is the fourth and last item I have to review from my Vanilla Scoop hatbox I treated myself to for my birthday, which was ages ago! This product is a delicious-smelling body lotion. The scent matches the other products in the Vanillary range, which is a rich vanilla scent that smells rather like caramel or biscuits. The scent goes well with the perfume although it is subtle enough not to get in the way of any other perfume you might choose to use. The lotion itself is quite thick which means that a little goes a long way, although the lotion is described as one of Lush's lighter ones (a hint is given in the name Vanilla Dee-LITE!). It is a creamy white colour, which goes well with the vanilla name.
The lotion comes in a bottle, though personally I think it would be better in the tub because it can be a bit tricky to get out. I find that it can take a while to sink into the skin, although when it does sink in it is non-greasy. Despite being a lighter moisturiser, I find it keeps my skin moisturised throughout the day.
Vanilla Dee-Lite is made from illipe butter, which is supposed to be incredibly moisturising. Cocoa butter is also included. Vanilla and tonka absolutes add scent, and skin is moisturised, toned and kept in very good condition by the addition of fresh kiwi fruit. Liquid in the form of coconut water and fresh spring water help to make up the lotion, which is suitable for vegans.
The lotion costs £10.75 which is expensive, but it does last ages, is lovely and like all Lush products is high quality. I love this lotion, which goes very well with my Vanillary perfume, and will certainly repurchase at some point.
