Advantages: Everything
Disadvantages: None really but why an earth put a shower jelly in a box!?!
Recently I was in Lush with my best mate and she bought me some of this to try as it's her favourite product. Me I was sceptical. I mean a slice of jelly in a cardboard box? I love Lush but I'm more than a little aware that it's not really economical and based on luxury at a cost so I thought this was going to be another product that works out just over £2.00 for something like 2 uses lol
Now don't get me wrong I'm not complaining about the prices.. exactly. It's just after shopping there for years and adoring the shop and trying most things on offer I'm now at the stage where I know what works out a good buy. This didn't look like it would be! Appearances can be deceptive though so read on lol
Now lets clear up one myth. Somewhere I read that a 100g of this product should give about 50 uses. Absolutely no way unless our using a pea sized amount and me, I'm rather heavy handed on my shower gels and I do like a good lathery shower and to feel really clean!
What Lush Says About The Product....
Anti-jetlag Jelly for keeping you calm, cool and focused. Have you noticed the way that time speeds up as deadlines approach? `Whoosh` is the sound they make as they rush by. To slow time down, what you need is a Whoosh shower, with its ultra-refreshing essential oil blend of the citruses (plus lemon, lime and grapefruit juices) with revitalising rosemary and balancing geranium, which we put in there to wake you up a bit, but not too much. Excellent for overcoming jet-lag.
The Packaging....
Well it comes in a cardboard, recyclable box with a clear plastic window on the side I can see my jelly through. The jelly is just that! A jelly! (Odd that eh lol) It's wibbly wobbly and a really beautiful ocean blue colour. On it I'm told on a white label that it is Whoosh shower jelly and it is a Lush product. I'm told 'Grapefruit, rosemary and geranium essential oil frozen jelly shower. Perfect for jetlag and everything else that gets in your way. Don't throw a wobbly: jiggle a jelly! Freeze it, chill it, use it at bathroom temperature. Crush or stroke it all over your body and hair, lather and rinse out. I'm also told best before date and given the Lush website address, (www.lush.co.uk). On the side of the box I'm told a bit of information on recycling and on the bottom of the box I'm given list of ingredients and told it isn't vegan.
My One And Only Complaint!...
This is a shower gel and fair play to Lush and them wanting to use recyclable packaging. However I'm in the shower and I have to dip me hand in to get shower gel out.... yes I'm wet. I mean I wouldn't grab shower gel on to my hand then stand in shower, get wet and then try use a piece of jelly after all would I?! So what happens? Well over time box gets wet and when it dries it gets all stiff and manky and it tears and doesn't look so good! Also it's a shower gel I'd like to keep in my bathroom. Not have to remember every time I want a shower to grab my box from my bedroom and take it with me! It's rather annoying! (this is because its not a good idea really to store jelly in a bathroom!). It's a minor niggle though but I don't get the thought behind it lol...read on to find positives lol
Using It....
Now I'm not moaning but using it to start with is a bit tricky, there's an art to it. The best way I have found is to get about the size of a 50p and rub it into a wet sponge, flannel or scrunchy with your hand to evaporate it and start off a lather. After all this is a jelly and it flops off said sponge, flannel or scrunchy and goes down the plug hole or sits in your shower tray or bath until you take the time to rinse it out if your not careful! I hate that as it's such a waste and the most uneconomically way of using this is by applying wit your hands. It just runs away and doesn't lather up very well at all!
Firstly I will say well done to Lush on the smell of this jelly. I'm not normally into fruity bath and shower products but this one really is divine and in my opinion the nicest smelling shower jelly they do. It lists fresh lemon juice, fresh grapefruit juice, and fresh lime juice amongst it's ingredients and wow can you smell them! This stuff smells so edible and refreshing and just so natural and not one bit fake. What's nice about it is each time you use it you'll sniff it and sometimes you'll think it's mainly a lemon shower gel and sometimes you'll think its lime etc its like each time you use it you get different smells!
So Using It.... 50p size on my scrunchy, rubbed into, said scrunchy cleans my whole body. It goes from the lovely blue colour to lather in a matter of seconds. For a jelly I don't know what I expected. I guessed I would see the jelly turn to liquid juice and natural oils coating me but no this transforms into thick white fluffy bubbles, really luxurious!
Lush say this is suitable for using on hair but not only do I not fancy using something I wash my body with on my barnet (and I have seperate stuff to use on my hair anyway), this is a jelly and I don't fancy picking the bits out of my hair at all! So I won't be testing it out in ths way!
Now when Lush says its great for jag lag that part I can't comment on but I do like the way that this is made of citrus and smells so nice but isn't zingy and doesn't wake me up! It really doesn't and I like using this before bed! It isn't invigorating, which is good for me cos I don't want to be invigorated! I can use it anytime! It's great for shaving with, does really clean and get rid of nasty niffs and gives me the softest skin ever! It's just sublime! I feel so clean and not just after I've used it but all day long and when I go to bed at night I can still faintly smell it on my skin.
It's not as uneconomical as I thought it would be by looking at it. I had a 100g and I've had 8 showers out of it and still got over half left. (Not 50 washes though lol).
This is so highly recommended by me. It's perfect for any man or woman, any age any shape any size and skin type. For me this represents everything fantastic about Lush. Just lately I've had hit and miss products and started to wonder if I'm wasting my money on over hyped products and had started to go to town and not even bothering to look in Lush anymore but this has reinstalled my faith!
If you've never tried anything from Lush this is a fabulous place to start and if you go regular and never tried it at £2.20 for at least 16 showers (use it every day at that price eh!) well what an earth you waiting for! This is Lush at its best and most economical.
Your skin will thank you and me I've already emailed Lush to tell them how amazing this is and begged more 'flavours'!
Prices....
100g £2.20 only to be found in Lush.
Summary: Till now, by far Lush's best product. Buy it!!
