Lush Wiccy Magic Muscles
One rainy day wandering around Meadowhall, we happened to pop into Lush. I just love going in there for the wonderful smell. My boyfriend (now fiancé) wandered over to the massage bars and began to pick all the testers up to smell 'em. He settled on this massage, Lush Wiccy Magic Muscles. He just loved the minty smell. He went to the till and bought it. He paid £3.95 for it. This is many years ago. Due to inflation, the massage now costs £4.75. Is it still worth?
The bar is oval in shape. Mainly a creamy colour with brown Aduki beans in the top layer of the bar. It looks like it's a big white bar of chocolate with brown flecks in it. It's weight is 70g. As you take it out of the plastic bag, an aroma of mint and cinnamon hits you. The combination makes it smell more like cloves.
The bar is soft and cold to the touch. Like with all massage bars, just rub it in your hands to make the calming oil come loose and make it more easier to rub into your skin. I always find it easier for my fiancé to do it as I can't reach my back in the same way that he can and I get a nice massage out of it. As he rubs it in my skin, I feel him making patterns on my back with the bar. The Aduki beans feel rough but helps to get rid of those aches and pains.
The product feels cold at first but then gives you a warm tingly sensation that runs through your body. The smell seems to be stronger when oils have been loosed. It has a magical way of making your muscles relaxing. It has a soothing quality and leaves your skin moisturises and slightly shinny. It absorbs well into the skin. The smell remains the room for quite a while, which isn't a problem if you love it.
When we first used this, we had the problem of the beans falling out so use the side of the bar without beans to get the oil loosened and just use the beans' side to get rid of those aches and pains.
I keep mine in the fridge so it doesn't melt. As once I left it in the bathroom and my bathroom is quite warm and half of it just melted in the bag, twas a bit of a mess.
Word of warning: do not get it close to any cuts or private bits as my friend did and it stings horrible apparently.
Worth it or not?
Worth it. I absolutely love it. It's addictive and it lasts for ages. You will get about 7-10 uses out of it depending if you use it for a full body massage or not. It gets rid of aches and pains and if you have a partner, gives you the great excuse to get a massage.
The downside is that it starts to crumble when you have used it all and it's coming to the end of its life. All the beans fall out. They seem to get everywhere. Also the price has gone up.
This massage bar you love it or hate it because of the smell. Not to keen on mint, cloves and cinnamon. Don't worry there's loads more bars to choose from.
