Advantages: Full of goodies, some you like some you dont
Disadvantages: Contains a few baddies!
While I'm currently on a whole Lush gift review trip I might aswell review one of my favourite all time Christmas gifts. Its stocked full of great items which you can get very easily addicted to! I recieved this gift box from my boss at work! That year I happened to pull in alot of over time and I helped him reach alot of his own targets which resulted in me getting a bigger Christmas present than normal! The fact that he kept seeing a Lush bag at my desk nearly everyday gave him the biggest possible hint! It was almost a shame to dip into it and start using the goodies in side! I will be reviewing the 2006 version of Wish List purely because this is the version I received.
Wish List Contains: Christmas Party, Green Wing, Jingle Spells, Mr. Butterball Snowman, Puddy Holly, & Wish Upon A Star Bath Ballistics; Bling Crosby, Christmas Day, Christmas Kisses, & Christingly Bubble Bars; The Christmas Massage; Ol' Blue Skies Is Back Shower Gel; Champagne Snow Showers Shower Jelly; Bob Soap & Snowcake Soap - I wont be reviewing all the products in detail, just a brief over view!
Wish List is a beautifully wrapped hat box which is festive in colour, with a red and gold star patterned box all tied together either with a red or gold shiny satin ribbon. I did worry about carrying this to my car but fortunately it has ribbon handles at the side and is relatively easy to carry! The hat box itself is also quite robust and can take a few knocks or bumps!
Wish List in particular happens to contain quite a few flawlessly precious products, some of the best Christmas goodies that Lush has to offer; a lemongrass Green Wing (which is basically an angel shaped Avobath Bath Ballistic), juniperberry hangover cure Jingle Spells, luxurious cocoa butter packed vanilla musk Mr. Butterball Snowman (is a fantastic moisturiser), and rich marzipan scented Snowcake Soap.
And as if that weren't enough fabulousness in one box, there is also a spicy "Hershey's Kiss" shaped Christmas Kisses, a mint tea scent Christingly, fresh green Christmas Day, Karma scented Bling Crosby, fruity vanilla spice Christmas Massage, and a small 100g bottle of potent patchouli and frankincense Ol' Blue Skies Is Back Shower Gel. Of course, the latter might get up your nose a bit (especially if you're a patchouli hater like myself), but it's still one of the kindest skin caring gels Lush has ever created. (No matter what you think of their scents, patchouli and frankincense are two of the greatest anti-aging skin conditioners on earth.)
And while Wish Upon A Star may look bland, its musked pine oil is guaranteed to soothe stress related headaches and insomnia, making this a wonderfully relaxing aromatherapy treatment (I personally recommend using this with a large glass of wine and soaking in the bath for oh....at least an hour!). Besides, once you venture into your dirt brown Christmas pudding Puddy Holly bath, as delicious as it might smell, you'll perhaps be left wondering if colourless water is such a bad thing after all. The only potentially disappointing products here are the Bucks Fizz scented glob of frustration that is Champagne Snow Showers Shower Jelly (why could it not be as good as some of the other shower jellies?), its matching shrapnel packed Christmas Party Bath Ballistic, I hate this ballistic I happen to hate the sharpness of the sequins which really get to all the wrong places! And last is the the fruit and licorice Bob Soap which melts far too easily, even when its in the bag its starting to melt - for an up to date review on Bob please see my actual Bob review!
All in all though, these few flaws can't take away from what is otherwise a magnificent collection of excellent products, and this in a keepsake storage box that will no doubt come in handy for many Christmases to come. I have also used this now empty gift box as a Lush storage place as it keeps all the items dry and the hat box is just too good to throw away! As this was a hat box gift it was probably in the over £50 region mark as are all the hat boxes, fortunately my boss remembered to take off the price tag! Despite the gift having a few items which didn't give particuarly great results I was still absolutely thrilled with the gift and I wouldn't say no to receiving another one!!
Again this is only brought out at Christmas and I dont actually know whether it was brought out last Christmas but I do know Lush re-create a big xmas gift every year which is housed in a hat box, it just tends to be on the expensive side!!
Summary: A great xmas suprise

- 12/06/09 I actually like Snowshowers most of all the jellies. Which isn't THAT much anyway (I can't imagine using any in the shower actually anyway). |
